Scott Morrison receives Australia's highest honour for leadership during [COVID] crisis
What did the federal government even do in 2020? Everything I remember about government response was at the state level.

‘People are simply not buying them’: That’s a wrap for Fantales
I'll miss them, though I certainly share in the blame of not buying them enough.
I'm stockpiling so I can still have some every now and then. From what I can tell, the cheapest I've found (excl eBay) is here: https://goodgroceries.com.au/products/allens-fantales-1kg-1?variant=42091381293253
By the way, hello all. First comment here coming from reddit.

Cash could be almost gone in Australia in a decade
Every month or two I make the trek to the local bank to get some $1 coins for the laundry in our apartment complex.
Aside from that, I use Apple Pay for nearly all in-person transactions, PayID for sending money to friends and family, and my credit card online.
I'm approaching 30 and haven't actively carried cash in over a decade.

MP berates informal voters after dud ballot spike in NSW seat

The Riverina electorate had 13 lower house candidates – the equal-highest nationally – and he said such a "large number" was known to confuse voters.
Old mate thinks the locals can’t handle double digit numbers.

Green light for Harbour Bridge cycleway leaves opponents decrying ‘pig’ of a project
I'm personally not a big fan of those renditions and agree that it will take away from the park area.
But at the same time, I can't think of a better way of doing this and it desperately needs doing.

Is there an Australian equivalent for boycotting american products ?

I’ve just cancelled Disney+ this morning after finding out about their most recent price increase. I’ve still got nearly a year left before it runs out, but I’m not spending $200+ a year for a product that started <$100 a few years ago.

The new Sydney offices designed to make workers happy
I moved into my current role nearly 2 years ago and was hired as remote.
I've moved a few times since then, and now live less than 10km from the office (<20 min on my motorbike). I'm still 100% WFH though, with my last visit being a single day in late October last year.
I dread the idea of returning to the daily commute and have kept that as a key criterion when turning down recruiters.

Opinions on 'Coles Plus Saver'?

In the last six and ahead half years (since start of my budgeting), I’ve spent about $35k across Woolworths, Coles, and IGA (30/3.5/1.5).
Most of that time was as a single guy with terrible takeaway habits.

Looks like another heatwave at the end of the week. With the current forecast my coastal suburb is only seeing 30+ on Sunday, but western suburbs are expecting the heat on Friday and Saturday.
Is this likely our last bit of summer, or we will see some more heat as we approach April?

NSW to legalise e-scooters on paths and roads up to 20km/h for those over 16

They’re not too bad in my part of Sydney, though you do get the occasional teenager or delivery rider zooming through on an e-bike that has probably had the limiter removed/bypassed.

Sky Muster - Australian Satellite Internet (StarLink Alternative)
In the way that ADSL is an alternative to FTTP.
I hate Elon as much as anyone, but Skymuster is painful. I think the best latency I ever saw was around 650ms. On a bad day it could exceed 2000ms.
Every time you click on a link, the internet pauses for a second or two and then decides to load.
