Threads is blocking servers on the Fediverse. Here's how we unblocked ourselves. | Soapbox

The author complaining about Threads defederation from spinster was a pretty big red flag. It's on every mainstream mastodon blocklist I've seen and it's obvious he knows why. Really leaned into that "how can they discriminate against women!?" dog whistle that TERFs love to use.

Edit: Oh, it turns out he's married to the person who runs that server. He's also worked with Gab, used some of their code for his soapbox, and seems to have been involved with Trump's truth social. No wonder his feelings are hurt.

Texas power prices briefly soar 1,600% as a spring heat wave is expected to drive record demand for energy

They did change one thing. You used to be able to get electricity at wholesale prices from certain providers. When the rates went crazy during the 2021 storm and people's crazy bills for turning on the lamp blew up on the news, they shut down that option.

These rate surges do hurt customers, but now it's in the form of rate increases when their contract expires.

I moved from California to Texas but only stayed 4 months. Texas isn't much cheaper, and everyone was politics-obsessed.

The last gasp of the 'mind your own business' conservatives in Texas was either the 2016 election or the one after that. There was a period of time where you had the Lt Governor trying to pass culture war bills (like anti-trans bathroom bills) in the senate and then they would die in the house when the speaker wouldn't put them up for a vote due to it being bad for attracting businesses. Once the MAGA Republicans got voted in, it's been full steam ahead for them.

It's not like things were great before then, but it wasn't this race to the bottom like it is now.

The first time I had to drink one of these before surgery, I had no problems with it. I was stopped up pretty bad a couple of weeks later and got another bottle; it had done such a great job the first time. Drank half the bottle and then immediately vomited. I guess my body remembered what the liquid did and got a little ahead of itself.

It's also not the suicide rate. It's either the has attempted suicide at least once in their life rate or the thought about it rate. Can't quite remember which, but definitely not the suicide rate.

Cybertruck Owners Baffled After Months of Hate Aimed at Tesla Drivers: 'I Never Expected It to Turn People Against Me'

Reply in thread

2019 Elon was an asshole who called people pedos, cared more about the aethetics of the factory floor than worker safety, manipulated stock value by blatantly lying, fought unionization, and attacked whistleblowers. His open right-wing political 'turn' didn't start until people told him he needed to follow the rules to prevent the spread of Covid.

It's so hard to believe that Cybertruck buyers are surprised that people hate them. They ignored all of these things about Elon and Tesla and then they bought the ugliest car ever made. They didn't hear a single thing about Elon in the last decade and then dropped $100k on a stainless steel death trap that is awful at doing actual truck things and is barely held together? Like how did they hear about the truck in the first place if they are so disconnected from the world?

Shark milking is one of the most dangerous professions out there. It doesn't surprise me that the industry is under reporting deaths.
