I'm not sure what you mean. I don't use voyager, and find it to be off putting that voyager would share a link in such a way that is essentially an ad for itself.
I shared the direct link for the rest of us 🙂 it doesn't seem that ! is needed anymore.

I find it frustrating that the same author wrote both of these articles, published one day apart, but made no connections between them.

Interesting choice by Voyager. But it is nice that there are apps available for fediverse users who want them!

I really feel this. My job has me interacting with the public a lot, and sometimes they have dogs that want to come to me for pets or to say hi. I don't always know if they are friendly and just have to position myself both to be attacked and to defend myself. It almost always leads to confused dogs. I'll pet them a little, but won't let them on me. Too risky in the places I work.
It is pretty great when I see camper and dogs again, and I know they are friendly, and the dogs seem to recognize me, and then we can dance haha.

AI Grifters Are Making Anti-Data Center Slop With AI
I'm not sure I understand this. Spam accounts are using AI to fight AI? Or are data centers for something else? I don't like this kind of engagement, but this specifically doesn't make sense to me. How would it help the AI cause?

Price of best available World Cup final tickets tripled by FIFA to more than £24,000
I have never seen any World Cup games in person, but I hope these are the lowest attendance ever. Not only are they spread out over a large space, they are not laying out guidelines that they could.
in a market in which entertainment is the most developed in the world, so we have to apply market rates
if you were to sell tickets at the price which is too low, these tickets will be resold at a much higher price
These games are world market. The US could easily host them (I think) in one or two cities that are close to each other. They could also just, maybe, not host them.

Dam Sommeliers
I listened to a radio show a long time ago about someone who was trying to become a sommelier. I don't remember all of the details, but they spoke with someone that mentioned tasting rocks. I guess if a Chardonnay has notes of oak, or petroleum like Rieslings, these folks have had closer encounters with those than some of us have had. Maybe an otter could provide some excellent feedback about how a wine has riparian aromas from a woodland stream with a clear, stony course.
To your health!

Absolutely bonkers that record-high temps for the year are being set in winter.

Today's lunch: grilled salmon wrap (notes in post)
grilled cukes
I have never had cucumbers cooked this way, I will have to try it! This meal sounds great. I had a Frybread "taco" for lunch, not as good. It was free, tho!

Is there a good substitute for cheeze whiz when making grilled cheese sandwiches at home?
This video shows different cheeses and all are gooey. Also has some other suggestions of you would like to get wild.

Jailed Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu condemns 'the autocracy that manufactured this unfair trial'
The paywall is strong with this one! I wasn't able to get around it.
Everything I have read in the past has indicated that until something changes with Turkiye's overseas voters, Erdogan will remain in power. It doesn't seem like he needs a majority at home.

Fauxx Data poisoning for your everyday tracking

whenever that card is online
Do you mean when the card is an active card viable for use? Or stored in the phone somehow? I'm curious what online means and if I am doing it... I don't have any payments connected to a mobile phone but I do have a SIM card, probably paid for with a now expired card.

Engagement only? I guess I am not surprised, but very disappointed. This helps me see why winning people over about certain topics is so hard.

Thanks! Now I think that when you said "card is online" you meant the SIM card, not credit card. I use an alternative OS that, as I understand it, does a little to offset the tracking but it is, indeed, outside of my scope! I mostly have my phone on airplane mode, even away from home, but of course not always. I do know that this OS eliminates the ability for the phone to call home when on airplane mode.

Ya, part of the reason palm down is important is that if a dog does bite, it is structurally easier for us to turn around and away. But at that point it's just nasty stuff and nobody wants that. We want happy dogs! So far I've only been bitten twice and and no skin was broken (small dogs).

It's funny you bring up watermelon. A long time ago, when couchsurfing was still a thing, I hosted someone who grew up on a watermelon farm and shared all kinds of things that could be done with watermelon, including grilling! I don't remember if they mentioned Tajin, but that is something that I have anyway. I haven't thought about (or had) grilled watermelon in years. Thanks for the reminder!!
