Read theory
Reading also gives another vocabulary, arguments, a new way of thinking about certain topic, etc. A picture or an idea in your mind can become clear and be easily verbalizable when you read about that idea, even if you don't agree.
Like a vibes based argument vs a thought out argument.
Read theory, people.

Everyone Is Wrong About AI Except Me
I'm going to sound crazy (because I am), but I think counciousness can only be created by a specific kind of cognitive process, that the "brain" is automatically connected and receive direct information from it's behaviour.
Like, if a cognitive process, imagine an undescribed algorithm, receives immediate information from it's behaviour and automatically acts upon itself, changing the algorithm itself, so it can relate cause and effect, being the only basic form of interaction that can produce this cognitive process, the basis for any higher function as "I (internal) interact (made something) with the world (the outside reaction to what I made)".
This would mean that counciousness would need this step, not that this step would necessarily create counciousness.
These LLMs are prebaked dictionaries in this form of view.

What you are describing seem to be recursive self learning
I'm talking in general, not applied to this specific case, just what is the minimum for a cognitive process to be able to reach this specific type of knowledge. Consciousness at least has a recognition of itself, a "minimal" generalized definition.
More related to how to define such a system in general and what it takes.

The future of AI in Ubuntu [Except it's Blockchains instead of AI]
At each and every step of this idiotic "we will put LLMs in everything", I'm becoming more of a luddite.
My pc is working fine with artix and xfce on x11 (not that garbage xlibre), even DoT is working with stubby, why the hell do I need this shit?
Today the server goes systemdless too.
Sorry for the rant.

I don't have money to pay premium to not see ads. What in the world makes you think that I have money to buy what you are advertising me?
It's not about buying, it's about staying in your head, even if you don't remember it explicitly.
This kinda boring, menial, repetitive propaganda doesn't try to make you buy something straight away, it's to make you numb to it, to know it, to receive it without thinking, so then it tries to affect you. It tries to turn nothing into anything resembling truth, it turns advertisement and news, into an endless cycle of boring things that get hammered by the "a lie told 1000 times turns into truth" line.
It doesn't affect you when you're watching it, it affects you when you see or do anything relating to it.
When you need to buy new tires, you know what to buy, you don't buy based on technical sheets, you buy it knowing it, even not explicitly.
(A take from Adorno and Horkheimers "Dialectic of Enlightenment", the part where they talk about the media, culture, art, etc)

Do Lemmy threads end up on search engines?
Probably yes, even if the instance blocks bots, they will go to another one to get the post, these ai bots are a curse on all instances.

A single threat actor used Claude and ChatGPT to compromise nine Mexican government agencies and steal hundreds of millions of citizen records in a highly sophisticated cyberattack.
Ultimately I noticed a lot of new scams running around and some gov.br websites serving a lot of scams (they existed before only as redirects to scams, now they seem to be hosted in there too). A friend of mine tried to delete a 2FA token from her phone and got calls about that from a completely different "agency".
Seems like the script kiddie bar got higher...
Edit: But on this case, the article doesn't give any source

We produce more resources than we could ever consume in the least sustainable ways possible.

It's not the growth of ethanol (maize) and animal feed (soybeans) producing crops on the last 30 years, highly fucking inefficient and produced in the worst way possible, not even that pasture uses A LOT more land than agriculture while being a lot less energy dense, both using a lot more water than producing direct food, it's the poors.
Edit: And also, beef is the major cause for deforestation too:

AMD Risks a Hefty 20% of Its Company To Enter Into 'Mega' AI Deals, With the Latest Venture Tied to a Meta Agreement for Next-Gen Infrastructure
Imagine if the bubble pops and simply all these companies go bankrupt (because the shares are all tied by these mega deals), will there be ANY computing means available?

Producing beef is the most inefficient way to produce food, in both use of space and water, and energy. We don't need to impose things on people if humanity reduces its beef consumption.
If we cut beef consumption by half, literally oligarchs would not have an economic reason to deforest the Amazon, because of the price drops. But no one wants to do that.
Developing nations have proven to increase their carbon footprints over time, e.g. China, so the fact that they're the fastest growing populations on earth is a serious issue
You're conflating a lot of words, gives an example for China, while Chinas population is not growing even (or will start to diminish on some years), associating different things into the same sentence is hard to pick what exactly you're talking about, China or Africa (the last place where population growth is happening at large beyond the 2.1 fertility rate).

How Linux developers defeated the new OS age-verification laws
Reply in thread
I'm already seeing that in a year or two, we're getting blocked on websites or electron applications because of age verification just like in android with Google Play Services. Like use age verification software or get blocked for 99% the internet.
They don't even need to turn it into law.
