I think that's a big part of the problem with electrified bikes, scooters and the like. As long as they are used as an alternative to more polluting and less sustainable modes of transport, that can be a win. But if they're used as alternatives to walking or unmotorised modes of transport, they're doing more harm than good. And I'm afraid that's the case more often than not.

The fundamental problem is that there’s money to be made by consuming more and more “sustainable” resources. The real solution is to reduce consumption on a global scale.

It’s all got to do with licences and patents, and which companies backed which standards.

I've cleaned out plenty of Lightning ports over the years. Filled with gunk. Most of the time the connector would still work, but in some cases intermittently or not at all.
