Anti Flock Poem I wrote the other weekend
Goliath the oppressor, now takes up sling and staff.
Claims to watch us for our good, bring safety to our path.
Says he is a shepherd, would keep us as his flock,
But sells our children to the wolves, and keeps us all in stock.
We know that you are tyrant still, of conquest not of peace.
You lead us far from pastures green, and to the chopping block.
We will not be fenced, we will not be fleeced.
You are not our shepherd, we are not your flock.
.
You dress up as an angel, one with many eyes.
You think that you see all? Well we already saw.
Saw through all your lies, and see you as you are.
Your eyes they form a prison, your sight is iron bars.
We will gouge them out, with steel teeth and claw.
Gouge out all your eyes, gouge through iron bars.
You think that you see all? You can't see through what we will saw.
.
I condemn you, I condemn you. I call for judgement from on high.
You've left us with no recourse, no judge you have not bribed,
Save the one you seek to usurp, the true all seeing eye.
Goliath thinks he's clever, to take up sling and staff.
But a changing of appearance cannot turn aside God's wrath.
God's judgment comes for kings, the proud and crafty most of all.
Those fools who make themselves as god, consumed by worms when they fall.
.
While you stand, try not to shake, upon your pillars that we rock.
The fence you build is flimsy, we will saw it till we reach,
Our dream fulfilled at last, our greener pastures free.
Your gate cannot contain us, for we can reach the lock.
You are not our shepherd, we are not your flock.
