Amazon tech workers leaving for other jobs in response to return to office mandate

Reply in thread

The whole problem with companies like Amazon is that hardly anyone in charge of them seems to care about long term sustainability. They all just invest enough effort to squeeze out some short term profits, earn their bonuses and then leave for another company to do it all again. Nobody is interested in sustainability because there is no incentive to. They're playing hot potato with the collapse of the company.

Debate wrap up: No one has ever so thoroughly dominated Donald Trump

Reply in thread

Trump and his followers are truth proclaimers, not truth seekers. They believe truth is dictated by consensus, volume, devotion, etc because that's what their religion and their narcissistic delusions teach them. Everyone else knows that truth is something to be analyzed and determined, not proclaimed.

So in general, yeah it's a waste of time paying attention to what their reaction is. They're a predictable bunch.

Anon is a conspiracy theorist.

Conspiracy theorists aren't actually truth seekers. They're not out to discover the truth. They want to proclaim the truth and feel like special people who have hidden knowledge so they can feel superior. It's all about their ego, their sense of security, and nothing else.

All of this stuff is out in the open for all to see so the theorist nut jobs don't get to feel special by trying to expose it.

Baldur's Gate 3 dev says AAA is "perversely fascinated" by indie games, because those devs still understand how to make good ideas that aren't reliant on data

Corpos can't make good games because they're sociopaths who don't understand art, only products. Understanding art requires a functioning connection to humanity and emotions, which they lack.

Games aren't only products; they're art. Good art is not capable of universal appeal. The more demographics you try to appeal to for the sake of appeasing your shareholder overlords, the more dogshit your game will be.

Games made to support the interests of mentally ill rich people cannot be well made categorically. This is why AAA has sucked ever since wall street took over every studio.

Bunjie Announces Mass Layoffs

Bungie died in 2010 with the launch of the last good Halo game. They haven't been as good since. Their leadership have all been crooks and profit seekers. They deserve to die along with most AAA studios that have been corrupted by MBAs and shareholders.

Sony is releasing a new PS5 console, but it's a downgrade

Reply in thread

It's post-capitalism. Capitalism was only ever capable of bringing about merit based class mobility and prosperity temporarily before the sociopaths all trickled to the top over the decades and then shut that shit down. Neo-feudalism is the inevitable result, and that will eventually be dismantled by another working class revolution.

All economies have lifespans.

The median price of best-selling new games on Steam has dropped in the past 2 years, research finds: "Charging >$25 is getting trickier, as players compare value to the $10-$15 indie titles"

Aka the market has rejected your overpriced bullshit. Adapt or die. Welcome to the free market.

It doesn't matter if you're a mega corporation and previously had the winning formula. You adapt to meet evolving market demand or you die.

These c suites got too comfy doing everything to only please their shareholders. They forgot that pleasing their consumers wasn't optional. We are your money supply. If you lose us, it all comes crashing down.
