Redundant communities across instances
This will probably take care of itself with time. Not having any "official" ones dictated by some central authority is kind of the whole idea of the fediverse.

Has anyone else found firefox absurdly slow on android?
Mine has always been super snappy, so something's definately off I'd say.

What FOSS browsers, do you use on a daily basis on both your mobile and computer for privacy and security, and what measures have you taken to further harden your browser (if any).
Firefox on android and desktop. Never had any reason to use anything else.

I already developed a habit of going to Beehaw instead of Reddit
I'm already spending way too much time here :D I just hope that the news communities (world news on lemmy.world for example) would become even more active.

How many users could you host on a self hosted lemmy instance?
I think it depends heavily on how much storage you're allocating, if you allow uploading media that is. From what I've understood most of the bottlenecks are in DB operations so CPU and memory definately play a role.

So far people have been much nicer here. And besides, who cares if someone judges you or feels like you didn't contribute anything, that's their problem not yours!

Are all these thousands of servers useless?
Being able to host a mirror of an existing instance for load balancing would be cool. It would allow us who have available resources to be able to contribute without the hassle of setting up and moderating an entire instance.

Whats the most efficient; Using a fully charged SD when plugged into a 20,000 mah battery bank, or depleting the SD battery then plugging into the bank to continue play?

I'm not sure about whole instances (might require that you run your own), but I noticed I can block communities pretty much the same way I can subscribe to them.
