What is a good hobby for a depressed person?

I had a conversation with a coworker recently and we got to the topic of working out, and he told he's working out two times a day. He goes to the gym before and after work.

I asked him why the hell he would go twice, like that's just ridiculous and he said well he was depressed, and started working out. Everyone said it'd help with the depression, but it helped only a bit. So he figured well maybe he has to go even more.

It's absolutely ridiculous imo, but.. whatever helps one I guess

What would get you "back to the office"?

To bring another opinion to all the other comments, each week I'm trying to go into the office more often than I already do (2-3/5 times per week currently) which I feel is not much, but after reading some comments, you guys must think I'm a maniac already lol.

Now why would someone do that? First, I got a new job like half a year ago and I absolutely love it. First of all, my current commute time is around 25 minutes, door to door, in clean public transportation. Second, we got free water, Softdrinks, Coffee, Snacks, even fruits and cereal in the office. So no matter what I need to energize, it's there. At home, I usually don't. Or I do, but still, it's better to have 'free' you know?

Also, I love my colleagues. They're very young on average, incredibly skilled and highly intelligent. Also from many different countries. It's always fun talking to them and getting different insights on all kinds of things. We also usually take smaller breaks to play table tennis or table football.

Home office is great too, for days I really need to focus or have a lot of meetings. Or have private appointments, deliveries, or whatever. I can also take Homeoffice whenever I want and no one cares at all.

But still, it gets boring and lonely. Being in the office is great for my social factor and currently feels more like going to see friends, rather than working.

Google's increasingly prickly Android perception problem

Reply in thread

I've been doing mobile device management at my last company and we handed out whatever the latest a series was, to our coworkers, for especially the cost and security factor.

And with the A52 I think, they have become really really decent phones in my opinion, I really don't know what the hell the writer is fumbling about.

I mean personally it's not my favorite UI and I would take my pixel any day over it, but it worked so well and was so fluid, for a simple midrange phone. Again, not my cup of tea, but for someone like my mom or whoever just needs a phone for basic social media, calls, texts, decent camera and the web... This is perfectly fine. Now I'd still get her a pixel a series over it because the cam is just perfect imo, but if someone prefers Samsung UI, the a series is incredible.

Plus idk what their current state is but Dex might already be there? Or is coming soon? Judging by the latest Xcover that got it, which also just sports a midrange processor.

[Rumor] Call of Duty transitioning into GAAS

Reply in thread

Yea I see it the same, it's been GAAS for years now. Black ops 4 which came out 5 years ago this year started with the seasons and all. There's so much MTX, it's laughable. And this in a full price title, that plays like a freemium game. Aka it is barely fun but people keep playing simply because they're hooked on the dopamine they get from it.

It should've gone f2p years ago, but obviously the question is why, when you can get another $60/80€ per player anyways and expect the game to be any different.

I've played quite a lot of cod back in the days, but ultimately since mw19 the series has gone to total shit. It's been the same game every year, there's barely any skill involved anymore and they so****mehow manage to put in more RNG each and every year.

CoD never really needed any skill to begin with, but nowadays it's basically a slot machine, disguised as a shooter.

Rumours about GAAS come and go every year tho. I guess they will only change when people stop buying this crap, aka never.

*Permanently Deleted*

I mean as much as I'd like to be saving money as well, and the other comment saying every game company charging this nowadays, simply because everyone else does.. I agree

But also, the game has gotten incredible reviews. There was quite a lot about this game setting the bar for gaming and game developers. In that regard, honestly, I'm fine paying that price.

What I'm not fond of is yearly releases, charging that price for a game that is like a dlc to last years game and got so much MTX it could very well be f2p. Cough cod and FIFA

What would happen if caffeine was made illegal?

Reply in thread

Tell me about it. My coffee machine suddenly broke down the past weekend and I've had such a bad week. I tried red bull as a replacement but an energy drink in the morning is just weird. I then tried English breakfast tea which was nice in its own way but I still felt down during the day.

Yesterday I was feeling so off that I even tried alcohol because maybe being numb would help?

Today I'm feeling much better. Now this sound like it's one hell of a drug, and I can't for sure tell if it's just the lack of caffeine or overall bad habits plus somewhat of a small depression hit this week which made all of it so bad. But yea I was really not feeling this week, and I can't wait until my fixed machine arrives on Monday.

There needs to be a better way of updating games

Reply in thread

I've got like 15 psvr2 games in about 150gb storage already. And well, chances are quite high, as I'm playing lots of different games usually.

In total, I just checked, I have 44 games installed. Idk. Some games I just download as I might play them again with friends one day, like GTA online or rainbow 6. I play them like twice a year, but when I do want to play them, I have to download an update first, which is annoying af. Especially as I'm having my ps5 in rest mode anyways.

What is your opinion on tickling ?

Reply in thread

It's hilarious because when my gf and I got together, she was the same.

It was weird to me because I was very ticklish and I couldn't grasp how someone could not have that feeling.

But some time later, Idk why and when, but all of a sudden she became ticklish.

PlayStation Portal: Hands On With Sony's New Remote Play Handheld

It's awesome really. At this price, I can see myself buying this. I don't play on the go anyways, either at home or at my parents.

The PlayStation fambase is kinda ridiculous because on the one hand they're bothered by games being developed for the PS4 still, arguably downgrading them; while then wishing for an even worse handheld console and expecting devs would support it.

It would've caused awful fragmentation in the current ecosystem. Having your ps5 on the go is really the best they could've done.

Also, people complaining about latency but also complaining Bluetooth isn't supported. Make up your mind. I'm happy for this new PlayStation link thing. For the people that don't understand, it's basically the 2.4ghz adapter that comes with every headset, being built into the hardware, as Xbox has had it for years. Not requiring you to need that dongle anymore. Having that also on the handheld is perfect for good quality, low latency audio.

The only thing I really don't get is why you can't connect to the ps premium streaming directly from the handheld. Wishful thinking it just wasn't ready in time and will get added later, because connecting to a server would be cheaper, and faster if you're far from home, than your actual console. Obviously it would also give the great benefit of having games at hand without installing, updating, etc.

Question, how many games do you have? Because in the beginning, it was the same for me. But I've added an SSD and put an external for my PS4 games and as said, it's only updating the last played what feels like 15 or so. Anything I have sitting downloaded, almost unused, is never getting updated.

It works just fine if you use the console like 'vanilla'. Install like 6-10 AAA games that fit in the internal storage and all will be updated, but especially with a psvr2 now that has 20 smaller titles installed for itself, I might not come back to those games for a while and play other games in the meantime, means they won't get updated. Then I'm playing VR for a week, several different games, take a break for a month and my regular games haven't been updated.

The play and app store have figured this out by having a check for all updates and update all button, I really wish the ps5 could simply do the same. Or just actually keep all games updated in rest mode without doing anything, that would actually be the best. Because I'm also having my ps5 in rest mode 99% of the time I'm not using it

Let's hear your Cod Zombies Hot Takes

Bo4 is the best Zombies game

And it would've been even better if Activision wouldn't have fucked Treyarch over, this bad. Letting Blundells plans with chaos unfold, getting a grief mode, and whatever else was planned. It just sucks all of that got scrapped. Chaos went so goddamn hard, especially the massive cliffhanger in AE. I'm bummed I won't ever get to see more, but I'm least never ever again giving Activision any money for cod

Lol wtf haha. I'm not really an extrovert tho, I just really enjoy being around people and having fun... even though I can never start a conversation with someone myself, if I haven't known them for years already.

I'm also awful at keeping up conversations, my smalltalk game is straight up non-existent. Maybe one leads to another or so. But when I warmed up with others I tend to love being around them. At least for a while, sometimes I need to refresh my social battery again, but I feel we're all kinda like that

Even though I love bo4, I have to give that to SOE personally, although I played it quite a bit less I think. But the vibe, the atmosphere, the music are phenomenal on SOE imo. IX is a close second.

Also I can't stop the feeling the map is missing a decent wonder weapon. The scorpion thingie is cool, but compared to the AS? And even more compared to like the other bo4 wonder weapons, it kinda lacks
