Jokes aside, I'm actually using the new Firefox design. Not much of a fan of the excessive roundness, but it brought back a feature I totally missed for years: Compact layout, you can pick it in the settings an get very tight tab and address bars and menus, it gets rid of a lot of the padding.

I understand LLMs provide a boost for devs to write code when used as a completion, but I feel it's a very slippery slope once you start using it, eventually devolving into more work being passed straight through the LLM without much human supervision, so bugs can frequently slip by.

Recently I've been annoyed by lower software estability and I've seen it starts to drop as soon as an LLM is used heavily for development. Recent example: The newsblur android app, it would crash if I tapped on a subscription group, a paid feature I don't have but often misclick. Out of curiosity checked their github and lo and behold, main dev has been using Claude for many months.

They keep them grouped together though. If you look closely, they're in the same bubble while firefox is in another one. Probably shows both for the convenience of most devs.

Been using it since the alpha came out, absolutely love what they've done with the app. The installation flow is much smoother with the instant prompt for confirmation, the more granular categories and improved search make browsing so much better. I tried other stores before, but I couldn't get myself to like any of the actively maintained ones, v2.0 is good for me.

Such a shame to lose great developers to this bs, and those slop kiddies don't even think rationally about anything they push into a project and the weight it carries, heck they don't even think.

LLMs are probably a small part of why I've lost some interest in programming the last year or so, time and lack of good hardware being the large ones. idk, there's no good programming deep dives or material, everything is "how I (99% using an LLM) made this amazing thing", "don't do this, use an LLM instead!", "how AI is gonna make everything better/worse", AI this, AI that, I'm so fucking tired.
