The catholic church strongly opposed the Nazis. A lot of christians were killed by the Nazis because of this. The pope is more like: like: "Fuck, not those guys again"

To be fair: I switched to Linux 6 years ago. I'm using a tiling windowmanager, a lot of custom scripts, a different keyboardlayout with six instead of two layers (great for writing greek math, and other symbols) and an enthusiastic emacs user. I know the my System in and out. As a CS end math student, I know a fair bit about a Computer. But when A sit in front of an ordinary windows PC, I am a little bit upset. I stumble a lot of times over the thought: "You don't have a keyboard shortcut for this! You have to use the Mouse, to switch Windows or you have to click yourself trough a menu to change this setting. There are no man pages you can search with regex" I hate it!

Time is math I think
The twelve comes from the babylonians, which counted the segments of four fingers with their thumb. So each hand could count to 12, which is far more useful than 10 as a base, since it can be divided by {1,2,3,4,6}.

Why Europe is Actually WINNING the Chip Race
I think it's better for the EU to skip this technology and focus on the next one. There are promising startups in Europe, that are building photonic chips (some already have a working product). This strategy is not about the next 5 years, but for 20 or so. China has tried it for decades to get as good as TSMC, burned billions in the process and did not get there. Look at EVs, where small companies like Tesla and all the chinese manufacturers could enter a very mature marked because of a technological change. EU should do the same with chips

Based on this graph, and this graph alone, guess at what time I completely blocked OpenAI crawlers

That they do not become lie machines. Propaganda, lies and fake news from various different sources gets spammed all across the internet. If AI picks it up, it can just spread misinformation, especially if all trustworthy or useful sources block them

In gormany you can buy Tolino ereaders. Similar price to amazon, does not need an account. If you want to move stuff on there, you can just connect it to your computer, where it shows up as a usp storage device. If you want to use their cloud (no subscription, you get 30GB for your own stuff + all books bought from a number of varios book stores are hostet for free), you obviously need an account, but still upload all your stuff like totally your legally aquired collection of 20000 ebooks. At some point there was the possibility to update it via your computer, so you can use this device completely offline

You could argue emics & it's ecosystem, since all the extentions make it really powerful. For me emacs is more like a shell or a terminal. Itself is pretty useless, but there are a lot of tools, that work with it and integrate with one another. Emacs is just somewhat graphical version of a terminal with a shell running on it

That's on the international level. On the national level one, if not the strongest opposition to the NSDAP was the catholic church. They even forbid participation in the NSDAP in the Weimar republic, altough they withdrew this decision later. You can even see this divide on the map, where significatly lessb votesed for Hitler in catholic areas.

I guess you can say Ukraine is now worse off than in the USSR, Back then they weren't at war. The current situation isn't exactly the fault of capitalism (or Ukranie for that matter)

glorious stock
To be fair: companies should not focus on maximizing their stock value or work for some investors. They should focus on delivering the best product for the best price. For quite some time, especially in the US, the product of the most companis were just their shares. The best one just made the most money for it's investors. Trump finally fixes that. Also he really does some for the small people: Stocks are not a way to got rich, but a way to stay riwh - if the stock market outperforms the economic growth rich people get even more rich, poor people get more poor! Only rich people have money to spare to invest
