Don't forget to upvote!

Also, I don't think an upvote will be 'saved' anywhere for you to reference later? So if you do want to circle back on the content, I guess 'boost' is the way to go. I haven't figured out how to 'un-boost' something though

Like most things that frustrate me, it seems logic has flown out the window in this situation. At least from Reddit's perspective. I cannot fathom how they could mess this up so badly. Could you imagine if they would have given 12 months notice and piped API access behind Reddit Premium of some sort? They would have raked in the money.

Anyone else dismayed by the limited success and adoption of Odysee (YT alternative) when it comes to Reddit alternatives?

Honestly early versions of Facebook, Myspace, Friendster, all have charm and character when I think back to their starts. Just like malls, ha.

However, the current versions of social media all feels like outdoor shopping centers rather than community malls. No talking to other people or sense of community, just straight into the products to BUY BUY BUY.

You welcome lemmy.world!

All communities won't show up on instances automatically so it may be that you're the first person on your instance to 'subscribe' to that community! In my experience with lemmy, you can simply add /c/community_[email protected] (TLD=top level domain) to whatever instance you're at and that should pull that community in, but it could take a few seconds.

This example url would access the /c/general community @lemmy.world from lemmy.zip:

lemmy.zip/c/[email protected]

I'm still learning all of this too, so I'm sure there's a better way - hope this helps some though!
