Don't forget to upvote!

Also, I don't think an upvote will be 'saved' anywhere for you to reference later? So if you do want to circle back on the content, I guess 'boost' is the way to go. I haven't figured out how to 'un-boost' something though

Which is the first PC game that blew your mind?
For me it was World of Warcraft. First time experiencing an MMO, so that was magical in it's own right but the fact that there were so few loading screens in that game despite it's size was just 🤯

Or it should default to always self boosting (similar to reddit)

Like most things that frustrate me, it seems logic has flown out the window in this situation. At least from Reddit's perspective. I cannot fathom how they could mess this up so badly. Could you imagine if they would have given 12 months notice and piped API access behind Reddit Premium of some sort? They would have raked in the money.

“Reddit cannot survive without its moderators. It cannot.” That’s a recent quote from Reddit’s VP of community, Laura Nestler.

Yeah this kinda just tells me they said it (or heard it) but didn't believe it.

What way did the Titan submersible implode?
Reply in thread
I think based on the reported sounds from US Navy and James Cameron (what a weird sentence), we are actually pretty sure it was a rapid, catastrophic and instantaneous implosion.

Why not kbin and lemmy merge?

That's a great way to create another reddit but we want something (hopefully) better this time.

Anyone else dismayed by the limited success and adoption of Odysee (YT alternative) when it comes to Reddit alternatives?

Honestly early versions of Facebook, Myspace, Friendster, all have charm and character when I think back to their starts. Just like malls, ha.
However, the current versions of social media all feels like outdoor shopping centers rather than community malls. No talking to other people or sense of community, just straight into the products to BUY BUY BUY.

I’m actually kind of surprised that GitHub Desktop doesn’t have a Linux client. Found a blog where people have apparently made it work though.

You welcome lemmy.world!

All communities won't show up on instances automatically so it may be that you're the first person on your instance to 'subscribe' to that community! In my experience with lemmy, you can simply add /c/community_[email protected] (TLD=top level domain) to whatever instance you're at and that should pull that community in, but it could take a few seconds.
This example url would access the /c/general community @lemmy.world from lemmy.zip:
lemmy.zip/c/[email protected]
I'm still learning all of this too, so I'm sure there's a better way - hope this helps some though!
