Placeboz

The funny thing is that the "extra strength" placebos likely have a better chance of working. The more elaborate and involved the placebo is, the greater the chance of it actually working even if you know it is a placebo. Our minds are weird. As always, I'm too lazy to look up the actual study so I don't know if it was a quality study or not.

The US Air Force wants to test blowing up Cybertrucks because 'it is likely the type of vehicles used by the enemy may transition to Tesla Cyber trucks'

This is 100% initiated by Elon to sell trucks to the airforce and as a bonus project an image that the cybertruck is viable for something like that. It laughably isn't and can also easily be tracked. Off road isn't really possible either from what I gathered.

Hard to think of a worse vehicle for that purpose actually.

Why are diagnoses of ADHD soaring? There are no easy answers – but empathy is the place to start | Gabor Maté

I personally think that it isn't so much people that are increasingly expressing ADHD traits, it's the world that's more and more unforgiving of those traits. Everything is monitored and optimized and the volume of info we're supposed to process every day is massive. We're not built for this world and it shows. If we fail to fit the mold that produces the most value for stock holders we are deemed defective. We're not. We're just human.

The thing is, they want us depressed. Depressed peons doesn't want to fight injustices, they just hide under the covers and doomscroll the internet. We aren't built to handle the massive amount of info we are constantly force fed through all available channels. Our lizard brains are not good at prioritizing between threats and media and astroturfing are constantly overstating the importance of the current threat. There are SO many threats and issues to choose from that it seems insurmountable. Where to even start? If you are the kind of person that cares and have a bit of empathy it can be too much to handle.

I don't have a fits-all solution to combat care-fatigue, I really don't. That said, it might help to list the shit that needs dealing with that are important to you. Prioritize engagement from that list. How much effort and/or money can you spend? Where can it have the most effect? Put it there and do something. Anything. Just try to be a force for good in this fucked-up world. Helping others will lessen the despair, it really will. Again - you can't help everyone, but you can help someone. Let that be enough.

Also - eat the rich, it's all their fault. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

His whole look is very not butch. That beard is very well groomed and his hair is immaculate. His skin also looks very cared for. I do believe his dear papa may have been a lumberjack.

Nothing wrong with that of course, but I think he would be a lot happier if he just embraced it, poor thing.
