We are so used to the idea that a social media network has to dominate the world - ekse it's a failure. If Lemmy, Mastodon, Pixelfed or your old fishing forum is enjoyed by some people, it's a success.

Die Leute vergessen ja auch, wie die FDP in der Regierung ist. Das zeigt auch, dass sie in der Bundestagswahl vor allem von Erstwählern gewählt wurde.

That is exactly, what I mean. It's not so much about impressing other people and more about impressing themselves. They want a big car, because they think, it makes them big. Even people who care about cars don't see every car and think how cool the owner must be.
