You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of work, but I got inspired again (I had a slight self-hosting burnout and nuked my raspberry setup ~year ago) so I appreciate it. :) Can I ask what hardware you run this on? edit: I just wanted to ramble some more: I just fired up my rPI4 again just last week, setup it with just as barebone VPS with wireguard, samba, jellyfin and pi-hole+unbound (as to not burn myself again :D )

Don't know about best, but I've been running Arch on Raspberry Pi 4 for a few months now. So far I'm having no issues. Changing from the default kernel to rpi kernel went also smoothly.
