Blame HDMI forum for that. They objected to AMD releasing open source driver for HDMI 2.0+ that lets you do higher modes like 4k60 or 5k etc due to patent reasons. DisplayPort folks on the other hand, had no objections. DP is quite a superior technology too, so if you could, use it instead of HDMI please.

Using the exact number of cores I have as the argument (from /proc/cpuinfo) makes the compilation go smooth. Are you saying that without an argument, Make uses a very high default number that causes other processes to starve ? Nevertheless, kernel shouldnt allow such a situation as far as I understrand, and perhaps should be considered a bug in the kernel ?

Still cant figure out how I'd login with the tchncs.de account. Is there some hidden option I'm missing? Once I change the home server to tchncs.de, I see only two text boxes (for username & password) and a 'Continue' button. Zitaldel login method is missing.

Hi Milan, appreciate the quick response! The app wouldnt let me proceed with matrix.tchncs.de. So I used tchncs.de itself. Once I proceed, there is only the username and password text boxes and a continue button. Maybe this is an app limitation where they dont support the other authentication methods?

There is one lemmy community which is listed there that I am a mod of, and the fact that a search with its name isnt making it show up on tchncs.de lemmy instance made me question whether something was wrong lol. I just tried Vikunja and I totally loved it! Years ago I was searching for something open and that feels lightweight which includes support for gantt charts. Vikunja checks all boxes!
