I wrote a rather lengthy post about the shenenigans regarding for-profit TOR exit node hoster called "Conrad Rockenhaus".

I posted this text to forum.torproject.org, after going through the new account approval process, my text was pending moderation.

After a few days I came back, the text had disappeared entirely, I searched everywhere, not only there were no reason for rejection or even an acknowledgement that the text was denied, there is no evidence left whatsoever that I posted ANYTHING ...

So I wrote a second text complaining of this and demanding answers

and today, the SAME THING happened my post

There is no evidence I even made the post at all.

I have no choice now but to call into question the legitimacy of this forum and the TOR organization as a whole as suspect.

I mean none of these are actually pornographic ...

I thought this place was supposed to be "free", just how much of a user and speech genocide is happening on the backend that there isn't a single porn server on the whole fediverse ?

I mean, I did notice that you can't say duck the ducking duckers but I thought that was just a little quirk of my randomnly chosen lemmy instance and it wouldn't be a problem once I leave this server for my own, greener, self-hosted pastures ...

I just don't use tab grouping (yet) and I don't want this particular auto-group feature which I keep triggering by accident

Obviously the mass hiring and the do-nothing jobs were first of all a way to suck all the air out for any competition that might form during formative stage of tech blitzscaling.

I just spent a lot of last week trying to access the console of an old datacenter switch. I made a cable from the pinout of a similar switch.

My switch is a Dell S3048-ON this was for a C9010, it turned out to be correct.

So I tried over and over to make it work, but kept getting this garbled mess, but the mess was consistent with the rythm of a booting switch, and it kind of always looked the same

With many of these, I have many spares I thought they were broken, but they were not

I checked the signals with oscilloscope they were, dirty

So I made the signals cleaner by tidying it up

But still, it is a mess of garbled text !

Here I am using the other kind of serial adapter, this one serial to ethernet

Here is two runs, still garbled

As a last ditch attempt, I remembered one my old server has a real serial port !!

And it worked !

I already knew that addresses between 224.0.0.1 and 239.255.255.255 are reserved by multicast.

Obviously multicast could be immensely useful if used by the general public, it would obsolete much of facebook, youtube, nearly all CDNs (content delivery networks), would kill cloudflare and company's business model and just re-arrange the internet with far reaching social implication.

So, why hasn't all these multicast addresses been converted in usable private IPv4 unicast address space ?

I don't want a PLAY MUTE PAUSE not even a CLOSE button. Especially NOT when they have their own internal state for then they choose to appear and disappear.

If I want to close a tab, I middle click it ! These non-unlockable bootloader verizon phones that I've been saving from the trash. They make ok wireless camera and keypads and stuff. But not being able to enable adb in tcpip mode at boot without taking them to my computer has been preventing me from relying on them for anything.

I'd just like to start adb in tcpip mode at boot but making this change requires root access.

I searched for android 9 exploits but they all seem to be theoretical proof-of-concept. I imagine I need for fork over a couple grand on the exploit gray market to get the actual working version ?

Is that how it works ?

Will I ever be able to get root access on my phone ? (even if it's not permanent and lost on reboot, I just need to make a few changes !)

Of course, after than, whatever you've just plugged into it, will most likely not work

I am greatly displeased at the smartphone industry. I think it's time for a heavy handed crackdown about all the spying they're doing. The smartphone industry and in particular the company qualcomm I find an intolerable company in their practice, I believe they should be smashed, their equiment liquidated and their intellectual property destroyed.

The smartphone industry is a festering cancer on general computing, a persistent and pernicious assault on human rights. An invasion of our private spaces. A colonization of our lives.

I think it is past the point of reform, not that there are any regulator with to intelligence figure out what is wrong let alone the wherewithal to do anything about.

For those reasons, I think global thermonuclear war is our only realistic option for setting back the clock on this travesty.

I am willing to hear your alternative, I don't believe anything short of that has a snowball's chance in hell to change anything about this.
