RBC hasn't been independent since 2016 (remember Panama Papers?). On the other hand, EU is expected to lift sanctions against its owner, Grigory Berezkin, this week. Of course, Putin's oligarch deserves more rights than ordinary Russians, totally understandable.

On the third hand there are still legitimate reasons to travel from Russia by car:

1. Visiting kids who study in the EU (Finland is more typical destination than Baltic states)
2. Leaving Russia with pets
3. Economic ties for Kaliningrad region

This ban won't do anything reasonable regarding the supply chain of Russian war machine. Petty little thing a-la «Putin will have to recreate his battle.net account to play Diablo 4. It'll stop the war for sure!»
