What's your thoughts on the Lyndsey Clancy case?
Reply in thread
This is the verbatim response I got from Gemini when I copy-pasted your comment to it and asked if it was accurate:
This comment is largely inaccurate and blends internet rumor with severe factual distortions of the official record in the Lindsay Clancy case. The defense and prosecution in this case actually agree on the physical sequence of events; the entire legal battle centers on criminal responsibility, mental state, and postpartum psychosis versus premeditation—not whether Patrick Clancy was the perpetrator.
The Timeline and Patrick’s Whereabouts
The Alibi: Patrick did not merely give an unverified statement. He went to pick up takeout from a local restaurant (Three V) and medication from a CVS at Lindsay’s request. Police obtained independent timestamps, receipt logs, and security surveillance footage confirming his physical presence away from the house during the exact window the attacks occurred (under 45 minutes).
The 911 Call: Patrick did not "casually sit on the couch." Dispatch logs and audio record him frantically calling 911 after finding Lindsay injured in the backyard. The 911 audio captures his hysterical screams as he discovered the children in the basement during the call with operators.
The Confession and Police Involvement
Hospital Interviews: The assertion that police and Patrick surrounded her hospital bed and coerced a false memory is contradicted by court filings. Lindsay’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, noted that Lindsay was initially intubated, sedated, and paralyzed from the waist down from spinal fractures sustained during the jump.
The Call to Patrick: When Lindsay regained the ability to communicate, she was granted permission to make a phone call to her husband using a defense investigator's phone. During that private conversation—which Patrick recounted to investigators—Lindsay told him she heard a voice ("a man's voice") telling her to kill the children and kill herself because it was her "last chance." The defense did not dispute that she made these statements; rather, they used them as foundational evidence of an acute psychotic episode and auditory hallucinations.
The Suicide Attempt and Medical Knowledge
Lindsay did not take "a handful of unidentified pills" during the event, nor did prosecutors allege four convoluted, staged steps. She sustained lacerations to her wrists and neck, followed by jumping from a second-story window.
The jump resulted in severe, permanent spinal cord trauma resulting in paraplegia. The severity of these injuries runs counter to internet speculation that the attempt was superficial or staged by a third party.
Claims Regarding Patrick's Personal Life and Family
Remarriage and Vacations: Patrick did not remarry or immediately go on vacation. In the months following the tragedy, he released a public statement asking for forgiveness for Lindsay, ran the Boston Marathon to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital in honor of his children, and lived quietly out of the public spotlight.
Family Allegations: The claim that "even his own mom thinks he was involved" has no basis in any court record, public statement, or verified report; it is an unfounded social media rumor.
Neither the Plymouth County District Attorney's office nor Lindsay Clancy’s defense team has ever presented Patrick as a suspect. The core dispute remains whether Lindsay was legally insane at the time of the acts due to severe mental illness and medication side effects, or whether the state can prove premeditation.

I'm not pro-grooming. I like discussing my philosophies with other adults. You, of course, already know this, as you've been following me around hanging on every word I say for a year now.
You ought to have known when I didn't give a shit that you figured out who I am, or when I straight up told you that you were hardly the only person to do so, that I've always been intending to attach my beliefs and philosophies to my actual identity. In truth, I need people like you. In the end, it will be dipshits exactly like you who will direct about 90% of all the attention my work will ever get straight to it, and I thank you in advance.
I am, however, quite done with your stalking. So, if I receive any further communication from someone I even think is you, including replying to this comment, replying to anything I say or any of my posts on Reddit, DMing me on any platform, responding to my posts on Twitter, or if I am banned from a subreddit and I so much as suspect that you are the reason, I am sending the entire documented folder of all of our interactions, all of the 20+ accounts you've made solely for the purpose of harassing me, and all of our DMs including your death threats, straight to the HR team at Brawlhalla, Eric.

Do you honestly not see how fucking weird you are? Why do you know so much about my life? Why do you care this much? There's probably been thousands of people who have disagreed with me these last four years, maybe even tens of thousands. Only one guy decided to whittle through my commentary, figure out who I am, and stalk me all over the internet for a year though. Have you stopped to consider how unhealthy it is how badly you miss me when you can't find my accounts?
There's no way you even think I'm a danger to anyone anyway. At some point, likely quite a while ago now, you had to have realized that nobody would advocate about the things I do, leave a paper trail connected to his identity all over the internet, and simultaneously prey on minors. Read Farson's Birthrights (just kidding, I know you can't read). He had five kids of his own, expressed way more extreme ideologies than I ever have about adolescent and even child sexuality, and died at the age of 90 with nary a sex offense to his name. Turns out it's perfectly possible to think things should be different while adhering to the way things are.
But the truth is, you're determined to perceive me as some sort of a danger just so you can perceive yourself as some sort of superhero. As I already told you once before, you're not. You're just some weirdo stalker who draws gay shit for a gay videogame and I have way more than enough ammunition to prove it.
If you want to do something productive, shit, the age of consent is 16 in your home state - the exact age that it is in 29 additional states, the exact age that it is in over 80% of the planet, and the exact age that I advocate for it to be. If you think that's such a problem, go do something about it. If you were too fucking stupid to know whether or not you wanted to have sex with a person when you were 16 years old, go get on the mic at city hall, tell them so, and that you think it needs to be higher. Not that I'm not flattered that your literal entire pathetic life revolves around me, but it'd be more productive than spending all your time obsessing about me, looking for me, harassing me, stalking me.

Again, this is the case:
In 2006, a 13-year old girl from Ogden, Utah was arrested for rape for having consensual sex with her 12-year-old boyfriend. Her 12-year-old boyfriend was found guilty of violating the same law for engaging in sexual activity with her.
That's the topic here. Are you saying the judicial system got it right in this instance? This is action by our judicial system that our laws should permit?

I don't care when other people decide they're ready to have sex. I only care that they have the liberty to do so, and don't end up in the 12/13 Utah scenario in the OP in which both of them landed on the sex offender registry.
