Seen on reddit: Ran out of advertisers. Why? Yes.

That's not going to happen on Lemmy. It is technically possible but it's very highly unlikely.

Reddit's response about the actions they took against the subreddits (note: r/mildly interesting DID NOT encourage nsfw content and their suspensions and removal have been revoked by a diff admin)
Fuck reddit. I hope to see reddit get shut down one day.

Possible Defederation of sh.itjust.works
I totally agree with you. Reddit was authoritarian and removed communities it didn't like. Lemmy is supposed to be open. I am disappointed by the discussion on this topic. People lose their level-headedness and rational thinking in situations like these. Their inner caveman comes out. It's so disappointing.

Beehaw defederating effective immediately from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works
They should reverse this decision. This is not good.

POLL - Will you stay on lemmy?
I'm never going back. I like Lemmy. I hope reddit dies a sad death. If Lemmy didn't exist, I probably wouldn't have left reddit. I see much higher quality content here.

The fact that Lemmy/Kbin is weird and inaccessible to most normal people actually makes it perfect for Redditors.
This is truly a successor to Reddit but I think getting more people to migrate is crucial. Still not a lot of people have heard about this. We need to bring more people here.

Is it just me or did anyone else became a more avid poster since joining lemmy?
I became more active here because I don't feel like I'm contributing to a corporation. This is an open source software run by people who are just doing it because they like doing it.

Does the Defederation of lemmy.world With Beehaw Make It So That Beehaw Posts Will Not Show In My lemmy.world Feed?
Reply in thread
Because beehaw will block sync attempts from lemmy.world. Users can't directly connect to other instances. The instance they're on connects with other instances and fetches data in the background.

Exactly. They talk about it like it's a groundbreaking new discovery.

Lemmy exceeds million users (maybe more accurately accounts)
Reply in thread
I think it's a combination of things. There are real users who have migrated to Lemmy because of reddit's horrible treatment of its users and there are also bots being created but that's normal on the internet.

What are your thoughts on being called Lemmings if this platform becomes a staple?
I don't have any issues with Lemmings. But I prefer lemmers and lemmians.
