Infinity for Reddit's latest update...
And even with that subscription, you still get locked out of any post or subreddit that is marked NSFW, which will now be even more since subreddits are still protesting the changes.

Wie kann man nur so böd sein und das als Partei posten? Durch wie viele Leute ging das durch und niemandem ist aufgefallen das Alkohol auch eine, wenn nicht sogar eine der gefährlichsten Drogen ist?

It was actually the r/placeDE community. Two of our designers quickly cobbled it together in Photoshop and then shared the final design with a bunch of communities and streamers, including Papaplatte, Rubius, placeFR, placeNL and others.

Could federation be a turn-off for more 'mainstream' users?
As this instance just got defederated from beehaw.org, I would definitely say so since that's a massive pain, creating multiple accounts for one service just because some other members posted spam is really annoying.

I have a confession to make... I code in Comic Sans
You might like to try out Comic Code. Which is a redone version of Comic Mono but more in the style of Comic Neue, while including Programming Ligatures and Powerline etc. (though no logos etc from Nerdfonts so for terminal use you might still need to patch it with the careful option) I am using it and I like it a lot because it is so easy on the eyes like Lexend or Bookerly, but those two are not monospace.
One huge con though, because of the work the author did with redrawing all characters from scratch, it is a font that you have to pay for to use.
If you are still interested, check it out here: https://tosche.net/fonts/comic-code

These are great suggestions, but for finding communities, I would recommend https://lemmyverse.net/communities instead.
The Interface is nicer, you can directly get the ![email protected] string for searching it locally, and it doesn't use a large blocklist like feddit.de sadly does.

Why don't more distributions have something like the AUR when it's the main reason why so many people use Arch Linux?

It is technically possible to install paru through Cargo which you can get just from pacman by installing rust and you can install pikaur through PIP. Both can mess with your systems packages though so I do not recommend it.

Thank you so much, this really helps with large subreddits like for example r/de or r/videos where most new submissions are quite uninteresting.

Basically, we now have a local, frozen in time copy of the old beehaw communities on this instance, that will not sync with any other instance anymore since the main instance of that community is no longer talking to this instance. You can still make posts and comments on there, but the only people seeing them will be other lemmy.world users.
