Site to track Subreddit's as they go dark
This one has a pretty nice look with a list of all 6000 participating subreddits and fading in in real-time when a subreddit goes dark:

I think many go dark without announcement. In the last hours the list of participating subreddits grew from 3500 to 6000. You can search it on https://reddark.untone.uk/, it's there now.

Let's start with Facebook first, the platform that made a walled garden out of
You can't trust Facebook, it's about turning its users into a product for marketers, and that's it.

Summary of the basic Bullet Journal process
Reply in thread
I think one of the misconceptions about the Bullet Journal is that it is something that needs afford or attention on a regular basis. It is actually just a list in a paper notebook that is on standby and whenever something goes around your mind that distracts your focus, you write it down, e.g. a task that you don't want to forget, or some event or notes that you want to remember. There's no rule of having to be "complete". Don't worry, you can't abandon something that doesn't need maintenance and is just there to be used when you want to use it. It's not a planning tool, no need to feel guilty when not using it for a while.
If you want to try it, I suggest to grab a random cheap paper notebook with about 60 pages, and write something on that list whenever you feel like you want to, not when you feel you have to, for example:
0607
• call Tom: gardening
o met Susi
- at Walmart
- she goes to Europe in August
• prepare birthday party
0612
- interested in going swimming these days
• look-up opening times
• research new kitchen table

How do I subscribe to a community on another Lemmy instance?

I'm already enjoying Lemmy for what it is. Thank you very much for helping me settle in here!

Thanks! I read somewhere else as well about having to wait a bit, but in this case it doesn't seem to be the reason. The searched community shows up when being searched via the search icon on the top right of the page, but still doesn't show up in the search via the community section, even with scope set to "all", and the search form looking exactly the same.
Problem is practically solved now, just still a bit confused.

Thanks, that worked! I did overlook that little icon indeed.
I'm still a bit curious about the other search dialog of the Community page: Even with the type set to "Communities" and the scope set to "all," it doesn't yield any results. Expecting it to display the searched community might be a misconception on my part about how Lemmy or the Fediverse works, or could it be more like a usability issue in Lemmy? The search form looks exactly the same with the exact same parameters.

There is a downside: Because many people don't see the negative long-term effects, Facebook will have enough time to influence and dominate the Fediverse in a negative way. The masses don't see what Facebook is doing in the long run.
There's also not much reason to federate with Facebook. Sign up there if you like that network.

If someone plans to move to my neighborhood and that one has a record of burning down houses, it's not a good idea to give it a chance.
