Riposte! And Cell Block 18 micro games

My friends at Absurdist Productions just release 2 new games on backerkit.

Riposte! and Cell Block 18 are two-player, 18-card strategy games that fit in your pocket. Try to anticipate your opponent's next fencing move in Riposte! or escape from prison in the asymmetrical Cell Block 18.

Strawberry margaritas for Cinco de Mayo

Try to look past the terrible staging for this picture. I made frozen Margaritas for cinco de mayo from the first recipe I found and it was waaaay too strong. Heavy on the lime and heavy on the tequila. So I remixed it with some frozen strawberries. Like a lot of strawberries. In case it isnt clear I finished two of these before posting this. They are tasty and EFFECTIVE.

  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1 cup lime juice
  • 1/2 cup cointreau
  • 4 tbsp agave nectar
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 6 cups ice cubes

Blend until smooth. Add some orange juice if you like. Why not? Do whatever you like. Its a party.

Apologies for the silly US units.

Pork loin, roasted broccoli, potato wedges, and stir-fried broccoli stems

This was a quick meal from stuff I had laying around. Pork was seared in the instapot the cooked on high for 20 in a mix of apple juice, lemon juice, beef broth, and garlic chili paste. Potatoes could have been roasted longer. There wasn't enough color on them. I just roasted them until the broccoli was done.

The broccoli stems were a surprise hit. I regret all the times I threw them out. I slice them thin at an angle, then stir fried them on high and finished with garlic chili paste and soy sauce. They are SO GOOD!

Birthday Dinner for Fiance

Lemon pepper salmon steak, roasted broccoli, and gnocchi in basil pesto.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. I was going to make the gnocchi from scratch, but I was running behind and saw them premade at the store. The roasted broccoli has become a staple in the house now. So freaking good.
