Jellyfin has locked up my server. Should I reboot or wait?

Reply in thread

If you use some kind of virtualisation and/or containerisation then you can limit ram and/or cpu usage. This can of course greatly reduce lockups if not eliminate them.

Edit: I only now read it's a Pi 3B. Not sure if hosting Jellyfin on that device is a good idea... If you insist though, consider running an LXC inbetween and limit it to three cores. That should leave one core available for the system so the system doesn't lock up again.

Any recommendations for a low-cost, low-hassle printer?

For good bed adhesion I think I have a couple pieces of advice:

  • Get a PEI bed if you don't already have one. It makes a world of difference.
  • If that doesn't stick well, consider getting something like this
  • Make damn sure your bed is level
  • Make sure the Z offset is properly set up
  • If you aren't already, start by printing PLA, then move on to other filaments once that goes well.
  • Make sure you have proper temperatures for both the hot end and the bed. Normal values for PLA are 210-230 on the hotend and 50-60 on the bed.

Framework’s new desktop is mini ITX

Reply in thread

People keep shouting printer like they can just do it like that. Printers are a whole different beast, likely needing a whole seperate team with a different type of engineers. A desktop, given the existing team, is perfectly reasonable.

Calling a product DOA because of soldered ram is just a braindead take. Also, just because the ram isn't upgradable the whole desktop isn't upgradable or repairable? Are you hearing yourself? Get a grip.
