Bootleg shirt from Philly

Reply in thread

I'm trying to make it happen. I had bought a domain (cake.army) and was hosting an instance... but then I went on vacation for a couple weeks and it crashed due to lack of space... so I said screw that and just started another here on lemmy.world

I was trying to post once every day just to make sure people saw it was actually active... or at least one person was posting stuff.

I found out about every vinyl for sale, new shirts... even the damn concert by using /r/cakeband... I need that still. Even if that means I am the one constantly checking the website for new info.

MOST favorite CAKE song?

Reply in thread

It's funny as CAKE seems to be one of the few bands I can think of that I truly feel I like just about every single one of their songs. Choosing a favorite is a bit like pulling a name out of a hat, but you just get slightly more excited about a few of them.

LEAST favorite CAKE song?

I have seen them 3 times, 2019 and 2023. I really liked them all. Their stage presence isn't all that amazing though. It's essentially like going to a polished bar band... with a singer that often sings completely outside of the rhythm/bar at nearly every start.

Regardless, I will forever love their music. I may stop going to their shows if they go too far down hill. Right now, I have a theory he gets fairly drunk back stage and he sings so slow due to being a bit too drunk... but I have no proof. =)

MOST favorite CAKE song?

It's funny you say that. I would say the same, but for probably 10 plus years, short skirt long jacket was an instant skip for me.. I don't know if it was due to being played so much or what... But I always loved the distance. Probably nostalgia held it together.

  1. New York and Philly, Chicago, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.

Not sure which was worse. New York has a hard curfew and Chicago seemed to lack excitement, which made them play a little less... I think.

It was really just a target of opportunity. More of a "once in a lifetime thing". Their "we don't have a set list" schtick was a little disappointing when I realized they played the same 90 percent every show. Was hoping for a more unique show each time.

Baldur's Gate 3 - Hotfix #15 Now Live

Fairly certain you can no longer talk to a merchant now with one character and them rob them blind with another. Bummer

Edit: not sure what happened, but tried a different merchant and it worked. I couldn't do it at the grove blacksmith guy after the patch, but I could before.
