Honestly running anything that isn't Synology made on their devices is a pain. Also, without knowing how old the device is, it's also a challenge to make a recommendation. As the other user replied Jellyfin is a good one, can run music, movies and tv, and home media too.

Also use frigate and amcrest. Works well! Cameras are only $50 a piece. Running on an old Optiplex. VLANed off from the internet. Amcrest cameras do need to be disconnected from the internet via VLAN though, they ping home an absurd amount, for what idk.
