Fuck yeah, r/android is still on lockdown
Honestly I feel that the android community here on lemmy is more active than the r/android subreddit before the lockdown

Whaf do you think of hosting an AMA with John Oliver to make Lemmy/kbin officially a viable Reddit replacement?
I am all on board with the idea. If someone has connections to mods from r/IAmA please reach out to them for help and let's make it happen (here on lemmy / kbin)
In the mean time comment and upvote this post to spread the word.

If you try to edit a post and the edited post exceeds 10000 characters then the edited post will remain in status "pending submission". There should be no impact on the original post though. Everyone else will still see the unedited version of the post even after trying to submit the edited version.

Will our conscious experience inevitably recur in the universe's infinite timeline?
One of the current theories in astronomy is that the universe is ever expanding (and the expansion speed is increasing at that). This will eventually lead to a heat death of the universe (i.e., Big Freeze). In such a scenario I cannot imagine how consciousness can arise / propagate.
A contrary theory is that that the universe would reach a point where it would bounce back and reverse this expansion process (i.e., it will contract). In such a scenario the universe would have infinite cycles of expansion and contraction (assuming infinite time) leading to infinite many exact states of the universe (in this infinite time line).
Another theory suggests that there are infinite many parallel universes to ours. This should also imply that at any given moment in time there are infinite many states of parallel universes that are exactly the same as the state of our universe right now.
An interesting aspect of the parallel universe theory and its implications for consciousness is that at any given time we would be "sharing" consciousness with infinite many other beings.

Tomorrow many subreddits will open up again, will you switch back to Reddit or stay on Lemmy (or use both)
Will be using both for now until more people jump ship

Why does Lemmy feel so fresh compared to Reddit?
Reply in thread
I personally browse the Subscribed feed sorted by Top of the Day and my feed is memes free. I do have the problem though where half of my feed is news articles posted by bots even though I am subscribed to 40+ (non-news) communities

Is anyone else enjoying the slower pace of content?

Try sorting by Subscribed New. It feels a lot fresher. In Jebora there is also an option to hide posts that you've read/upvoted. This should also help with hiding those repeating posts.
