The name of the fish "Stör" is the same as the word "disturb". That alone offers a lot of potential for bad puns.

It is also weirdly common as a part of other words that don't have anything to do with fish. And third, there are parts of words that sound similar to Stör.

Take all those ingredients and you can have a lot of fun with strange word combinations and only native speakers have a realistic chance of understanding.

Oh common guys, that doesn't have to be about oral sex and you know it.

20 years ago I was injured in one eye. Without an operation it would have left me going slowly blind. The operation was invented maybe 20 years earlier.

Both my eyes had a cataract at a quite early age. Artificial lenses where invented AFAIK 50 years ago. The new lenses even correct my shortsightedness and astigmatism!

So if I had lived only 50 years earlier I would be blind on one eye and quite possibly without a lense or at least seeing really foggy on the other. Now I am sitting here with - 0.5/-1 and otherwise great eye sight.

There are no words how grateful I am for the wonders of modern eye medicine.

Hm, das find ich jetzt mal ein seeehr problematisches Anliegen. Wir Lehrkräfte verpflichten uns (insbesondere in Fächern wir Politik, Gesellschaftslehre, Sozialkunde etc.) zu größtmöglicher Neutralität. Siehe dazu: Beutelsbacher Konsens. Unsere Aufgabe ist es, die Kinder mit den Fähigkeiten auszustatten, selbst zu wissen, dass es sinnvoll wäre, an einer Demo teilzunehmen. Genauso müssen wir aber ein Stück weit akzeptieren, wenn jemand in der Klasse ganz anders tickt. Wir sollten keine Gleichschalter sein - im positiven wie im negativen Sinne.

Im Idealfall vermittelt also eine Lehrkraft nachhaltig demokratische Werte und geschichtliches Wissen und die Kombi treibt die Jugendlichen auf die Straße. Ich kann aber da keinen Schulausflug mit Plakaten aus dem Kunstunterricht draus machen.

Und etwas provokativ gefragt: Wo war dieser Aufruf bei Fridays for Future? Da wurde in meinem Bundesland explizit die Teilnahme im Rahmen des Unterrichts untersagt, weil wir nicht politisch beeinflussen dürfen. Da wollten aber viele Jugendliche ausdrücklich hin. Wir sind dann als "neutrale Beobachter", nicht als Teilnehmer hin und sogar dafür gab es Zurechtweisungen.

(und ganz nebenbei: Ich würde liebend gern mit meiner Klasse auf ne Demo gehen. Die Kinder gehören Bevölkerungsschichten an, die praktisch nie mit demokratischen Prozessen in Berührung kommen und die bei einer AfD-Regierung sehr schnell und massiv dezimiert würden. Vielleicht treff ich mal "zufällig" ein paar "privat" auf einer Demo.)

But I've got a nice side gig running where I help small businesses and schools to keep their old PHP based websites running and secure until they can afford a new system. In that area money is often very tight and there are no "content managers" but a few people maintaining content with next to no technological knowledge and in their spare time. So changing systems is a hard task. Being the really decently priced guy who keeps their PHP ship afloat is pretty rewarding (not really monetarily but personally).

So working with PHP I have a very nice group of customers who are grateful for every bit of help. I love that.
