Beehaw defederating from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works

Reply in thread

Isn't the whole point of the fediverse that you get to create and craft your experience for your community? There's a really good reason defederating is a feature. I don't get it, Beehaw decides to use the features of federation so now we: firstly become tribalistic (them vs us), and secondly decide to get angry? Like it or not, this is what you signed up for when you wanted federation.

I don't see the point of getting angry like this, and really don't see how this negativity being conducive to a thriving community. Some new people are going to explore fediverse, see tribalistic mudslinging among instances, and say "not for me."

I'd say respect their decision and move on, if it's not for you it's not for you.

Must resist

I know it's a meme, but the way I see it is, giving Reddit a click or two won't really move the needle much.

Really it's about the long-term. If you're on the Fediverse creating content and not on Reddit, eventually those search results will stop pointing at Reddit. That's the real win I think.

Are the diablos any good?

If you're into character progression, and loot, then you'll love Diablo. The loot system is great and really draws you in to playing more.

The art and ambiance is also amazing, and from what I can tell Resurrected is pretty faithful to the original.

There are some rough parts (like stamina, chugging potions, etc) given the age.

Speaking as someone who lives in the US, the reason why people “prefer” it is because it’s embedded into the culture that public transportation is for poor people

You can see that with all the comments talking about how cars are superior because you don't need to share space with strangers.

A lot subreddits end their blackout tomorrow. Will you go back to Reddit, or continue with kbin and the Fediverse?

Off topic but:

I’m a software engineer so I can figure this shit out

I'm also a software engineer, and I love it when other software engineers act like being a software engineer means that they are smart and if they can't figure it out, then it must be someone else's fault.

I've met other software engineers like this, and sometimes they actually are worse than others at figuring things out.

You reached the end
