TRUMP GUILTY ON ALL 34 COUNTS

Reply in thread

The guy behind me that watches fox news all day because "he needs something to help him focus" immediately started spouting fox talking points as soon as the verdict was read. My younger coworkers were like, "no way, that's crazy" to all his bs. I just had to say, "no that's not true. I read the jury instructions and they don't say that." He moved onto insisting there was no evidence and Cohen perjured himself and at that point I was already on my way out the door.

He's Gen x, a landlord, new York exile, classic gabagool. Ugh.

Humans, apparently, throw like gods

We invented the flame thrower. I know George Carlin did the bit best but... Imagine explaining that to a group of aliens.

"You... you throw what now?"

"Flames, bro."

"For what purpose...?"

"Well, We had these people called Nazis and they liked to hide in concrete fortifications so we figured the best way to make them not be in there would be to fill it with fire."

"Does that not harm these 'nazis'?"

"Oh yeah, it harms them. That was like, a bonus."

"Well, It was nice meeting you. Goodbye forever."

Here's the plan. (New video from LTT)

"Mr. Sebastien, in your video from August 26, 2023 marked as exhibit 23B you referred to "the Madison situation". Can you explain what you meant by 'situation'?"

You may not like it but when there's credible accusations of harassment, constructive dismissal, and possibly up to battery you do not make public statements of any kind beyond, "We are investigating and taking the accusations seriously", which in case you missed it the CEO of LMG already did a week ago.

Judge dismisses classified documents case against Donald Trump

To paraphrase margery tyrell, "He doesn't care about the consequences because he doesn't intend to suffer them."

Trump has fallen ass backwards into a perpetual get out of jail free card. Is it any wonder he acts with impunity when events time after time prove that he is effectively immune from all but the most trivial inconveniences?

I've never been more glad to be child free.

Texas AG appeals judge’s order that allows women with complicated pregnancies to get abortions

Reply in thread

So, the reason the judge made an exemption is because doctors were basically saying, "We have no idea how to provide care in these situations and not break the law".

The Republicans response is, again basically, "The doctors have no reason to be worried about being prosecuted so the exemption isn't needed in the first place."

They could fix it in 5 minutes by passing a law specifically providing protections but they won't because any reasonable law would allow at-will abortions too because, say it with me, ABORTIONS ARE MEDICAL CARE.

‘I’m not wanted’: Florida universities hit by brain drain as academics flee

Reply in thread

I've wondered how long we'll go before universities across the country start refusing to accept Florida high school graduates because their coursework does not meet basic acceptance criteria.

This is exactly what DeSantis and his ilk want. Conservatives are scared shitless of their kids going off to university and finding out that their parents and schools have been lying to them their whole life.

Solution: Ensure no out-of-state schools will accept your students so they're stuck in your shitty system forever.
