I've never been an active Twitter user but it surprises me how much they do seem to be getting away with. Does it really not bother most people? Last time I logged in (before deactivating my account like a month ago) it seems like people I followed were still going about using it as usual. I suppose similarly I'm saying that here on Lemmy having migrated from Reddit - and Reddit is very much active after its own drama too, I guess.

Kinda off topic but the title of this post made me think; Do you think Adobe HQ is referred to as the “Abode”?

Looking for lemmy.world alternative.
I have an alt on https://sh.itjust.works/ because I like that it’s powered by 99% renewable energy. I did attempt to sign up for Aussie.zone too but I think that’s still awaiting approval.
EDIT: Oh yeah and I do have an account on kbin.social as well

Apple introduces offline Maps—but how does it compare with Google Maps?
Reply in thread
Another +1 for Apple Maps from me. I prefer how it handles navigation and even the look of the maps is nicer after years of using Google Maps. It plays nicely in the car with CarPlay too, naturally

McDonald's worker makes desperate plea to Aussie customers
Who’s talking to the workers these days lol. I’m ordering ahead through the app to get the discounts on offer, stack Maccas points to redeem free food and to be in an out of the joint as quick as possible.

Netflix says people just kind of rolled over and accepted the password sharing crackdown
Personally, the value proposition for Netflix is really lacking compared to Amazon Prime (which also comes with prime video and Amazon music) and Apple One family (which also comes with Apple Music, extra iCloud storage, Apple TV and Apple Arcade) which I have so it was pretty easy to cancel my Netflix subscription.
If I could bundle Netflix with something else it might make it worth it but comparatively the content on Apple TV is so much better than anything Netflix have at the moment, in my opinion (really enjoying Silo atm but have loved Ted Lasso, Severance, The After Party amongst others).

Reddit is testing verification labels for brands
That’s cool, I think a lot of us here would label Reddit as verifiably stupid.

The Reddit Protest Is Finally Over. Reddit Won.

+1, I wouldn’t have even considered moving off of Reddit until all the drama that had happened but once it did - and I found out about Lemmy - I’ve been happily more active on here in my communities of interest. Only reason I go back to Reddit these days is to encourage others to give Lemmy a go.
