Air Canada union says flight attendants will continue strike, defy government

@HellsBelle
This is the right move. Imagine if politicians were paid only for the time they were at their seat.

Railroad unions have followed the process by the book, and there's still no resolution after being in court for a year now:

Being forced to go back to a job under-compensated is an untenable situation here. Something needed to be done lest we lose our right to collective labour action.

Teamsters Slam Senate Report Calling for Strike Bans in Rail and Port Sectors

@Gladaed @grte That is a real freight train, as far as I can tell. But it looks weird because it appears they photoshopped or told AI to remove the (likely Canadian Pacific) logos off the side of the locomotive and owner logos off train cars, and the train numbers off the grey rounded rectangles. In railfan parlance, this locomotive model is a "Gevo"... compare with this photo of a similar engine.

I'm writing to my favourite YouTubers to politely ask them to consider uploading to YouTube alternatives

@cabbage @cecilkorik @brianpeiris There's an initiative in the works to try and answer these questions, forming a co-operative structure dedicated to hosting video platform(s) in a way that can support the needs of creators, viewers and supporters. Focused on Canadian content but hoping to create a widely replicable model. It's polling for names and other feedback right now, have your say:

What hardware does not support Linux?

@cm0002

The RailDriver train simulator controller only has official Windows support.

After reading the technical documentation from the makers, I cobbled together a "driver" that reads input messages then puts it out as a virtual device like an xbox controller.

With two translation layers, and with calibration required every time, I am able to play TrainSimWorld with it, because out of the box it can't seem to recognize it.
