I love systemd
I don't hate systemd, but I prefer OpenRC and usually use it on my Debian systems. My preference is purely vibes based though, and I think most of the anti-systemd arguments in common usage are a bit silly.

Neurodiverse people on benefits to be helped into work in bid to cut welfare bill
Interviews are such a big problem. I'm autistic, mid-30s, I've been working full time since I was 17, but I've almost never succeeded at a job interview. I've always gotten new jobs by either knowing someone or starting as an agency temp and then getting made full time, with the one exception being an interview where I'm pretty confident that the hiring manager was also autistic.

What other great opening lines do you know?.
The first line of Shirley Jackson's Haunting Of Hill House is a banger, the complete first paragraph is incredible.
No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood so for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met nearly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone

Some art pieces change the way you see the world by opening your eyes to new perspectives, others do it by inflicting acute trauma to the occipital lobe.

OpenBSD Super-Easy install

I've been using it as my daily driver for almost a year now. I keep Linux installs around for stuff OpenBSD isn't ideal for, but for most things I do day to day it's fantastic and easy to understand.

For those who like sci-fi, how have real life LLMs changed how you view robots and AI in science fiction?

Blade Runner's a bit different since the replicants are flesh and blood, just not naturally born.

It's a horror week for me. Currently reading Shoot Me in the Face on A Beautiful Day by Emma E. Murray and also beta reading a horror novel by someone I know. Quite enjoying them both.
Recently read Albert Camus' The Stranger. That was pretty decent. Think I'll go for one of his nonfictional works soonish, been intending to for a while.

I've been meaning to read that for ages. The film is one of my favourites.

Do you still host your own personal website? If so, what do you post/use it for?
I have a couple of websites, a personal blog (rarely updated) on an Ubuntu VPS and a site for my horror fiction on an OpenBSD VPS. Wouldn't host anything web-facing on my home network for security reasons.

Currently reading Albert Camus' The Stranger. Enjoying it so far, about a fifth of the way in.
Recently finished Abducted – Patrick Barb. Fun fast-paced sci-fi horror. I'd recommend it.
