Backflip: Apple now wants to train AI models with user data after all

After nokia N9 I got the Jolla phone. Then the Jolla C. Eventually as Jolla was struggling at the time my work e-mails did not work etc.

I had to make a choice between pest and cholera.

I chose apple as it was more privacy oriented at least in talks.

But if that “promise” flies also out of window…then what?

Does a phone that one can truly own and also works in corporate setting (sideload intune in a separate container) exists? Something that works with as litlle as possible tuning to make it work? Something that our IT department approves? Banking apps need to work.

I’m open for suggestions nevertheless I feel like we are prisoners in some sense.

I used to have a separate work phone but carrying two phones all the time got annoying after a couple of years.

'They're playing with our lives': AI researcher quits Anthropic

Okay.

Please explain to me like I’m five: How is a computer program going to kill me IRL?

Is the fear that i.e. AI will get hold of nuclear plants or hospital dialysis machines and kill people that way? (Or something along those lines)

I genuinely don’t know enough about this topic to really form an opinion but my initial reaction is that this is hard to believe.

Perhaps humanity can decline because some tech gets destroyed etc. but people lived 1800s and 4000bc “just fine” - but now AI will kill us ALL?

My bank is starting to discontinue web-based online banking in favor of an app.

I’m not techy enough to be able explain the whole rationale nevertheless to my understanding one thing is that the apps prevent pishing / fake login pages.

I have read news where people access banking from fake websites and lose money because of that. To my understanding it is pretty common way to lose money by accessing “bank” through fake sms etc.

For generic not tech oriented customers app will remove this worry and these people are probably 90% of the bank’s customers
