Well tbf those are post codes designed by the postal service to represent states. I wouldn't really count it as a naturally developed abbreviation like the ones above, it's no different from .fr, .es, .co.uk, etc.
The abbreviations for states used before the two-letter ones, however, are much weirder! E.g. Penna. for Pennsylvania

That doesn't really work there's nothing to change to... at least in civil engineering. It also isn't possible when the client specifies the software a product has to be delivered in

This is patently false and misleading. Windows 11 does NOT require secure boot to be activated, given that my computer is currently working right now with it off. Dualbooting Fedora and Win11 perfectly fine, update doesn't affect GRUB at all, and it just works. Windows is already shit enough that you don't need to be spreading any false info.
