Is the periodic table still getting new additions?

My ELI5 answer: The periodic table is basically "finished", there are no new additions. Meaning, the structure is is set and almost all elments found, including some (theoretical) higher-number elements that still have to be securely "discovered". This final discovery nowadays happens only in specialised labs from time to time, because the higher-number elements are extremly unstable, only created artifically and existing for a few nanoseconds or femtoseconds. Some more details you can find on Wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actinide

Additionally, some people discuss different models/structures for organising the elements in general. But that is a different topic.

Right, there lies the problem. Within StreetComplete you cannot set the POI-stats like that. You only answer questions or enter numbers (stairs, specific hours). So, the App should set this, if you select the drop-down answer "There are no opening hours." - Does anyone has connections to the developers to claim this "bug"?

Everything you do in a day that leaks data

You just said it yourself: The video is created/sponsored by a business. Usually, to sell a product. - That's what we have to keep in mind, when viewing such content. Additionally, some people here in the Fediverse are quite angry and polarised against Proton, despite it being a company with high privacy focus.

day 1 of posting insane takes from my zionist family

Intrigued by your newer posts, I had to see what your parents said earlier. - Wow, this definitely sound like a hard conspiracy theory! Difficult to believe.

But I want to mention, that if you look up different news outlets (even from Israel itself), that is has been established for months now: The Israeli intelligence/military and a bit later Netanyahu had some knowledge about the upcoming attack.

This is still being investigated. And sure, many details are hard to trust and the actions very doubthful. - I am unsure, if this will ever be cleared to the full extend. Unfortunately.

Did some quick search and it turns out: There was controversy about revisionism and right-wing talking by the original lemmy.ml admins (and founders). Hence, everyone coming from there with fresh accounts immediately get's the "idiot label", is insulted and downvoted. Not a very welcoming gesture in such a supposed open, liberal and new community of geeks. - It seems, we can either change instaces, delete our accounts or ignore it.

What job could I apply for?

Hey, there! Not sure if strangers from the internet can give you good advice ... but here is my 50 cents:

  1. Maybe you have a "careers office" at your uni (or the major uni nearby) giving some directions and showing options?
  2. Maybe the public (un-)employment office has some councelling for young academics and/or a "career information bureau" in your area?
  3. Find out the 3-5 most used job offer platforms in your area, e. g. "LinkedIn", "Monster" or so to browse the market and see what is required. This way you get a feeling what you could do and what not.
  4. Prepare for a long search; a "long breath" might be needed. So maybe you need to consider a temporary, simple work to bring in some money while you are searching for "the best" position.
  5. If possible, get in touch with some folks in the fields and places you wish to be/work. Ask for their open positions, the requirements and interships or trial working opportunities. Hope that helps. Good luck!

@[email protected], you have solid good points here! - Yes, the laws are democratically set and don't need extra intereference by VISA, Mastercard or else. It is just my opinion that Valve has been very liberal on his marketplace and not removing critical content themselves. I think, that is what led to the interference in addtion to lobbyist behind the payment processors.

Yeah, my comparison was flawed. But I got the idea across. Right, the transaction process is not transparent, especially not without publishing the "hatelist". - Especially good point here with the ethical aspect! There seems to be some double standard by VISA etc. about what is acceptable and what is not. I disagree with that, of course, as I still believe in ethical values also when consuming games. ;-) So enjoy you porn game, als long as it has legal themes.

Actually, I am convinced. The article was bad and confused my inital kowledge about the issue. But thank you all for the (mostly) civil discussion. The petition unfortunately is outside my jurisdiction, so I can not sign. But I will keep an eye on the topic.
