I can tell you that LineageOS is definitely good when it comes to security and data protection practices, but GrapheneOS is miles ahead by comparison due to its security preview releases and extensive hardening; LineageOS only applies monthly security patches once they're released, and it makes good efforts to fix security vulnerabilities itself, like the VPN leak over QUIC, which Google refused to fix.

I don't know much about /e/OS, but I personally wouldn't recommend it if it doesn't have anything you need. I don't know of any security or data protection benefits it would offer over normal LineageOS. IodéOS, another LOS fork, does have some benefits, but it's often far behind LineageOS when it comes to monthly security patches, which is concerning. I would therefore recommend sticking with LOS.

GrapheneOS and LineageOS are personally my favourite Android distributions.

"Custom ROM" is technically a false term for them, and LineageOS, PrivacyGuides and other institutions use the term "Android distributions" instead.

My recommendations would be: use normal Firefox if that works for you, install uBlock Origin, enable Strict Tracking Protection in the settings, disable all the telemetry, enable the “AI kill switch” if you do not want any AI (including on-device translations) in your browser.

I wouldn't recommend NYM, I tested it for multiple months, it's quite unreliable and had serious security issues (e.g. updates weren't available through multiple repositories they publish to).

I recommend Fennec by F-Droid, a FOSS fork of Firefox out of the options listed. I would adjust the settings within the GUI, such as setting tracking protection to Strict, and install uBlock Origin.

IronFox is, sadly, somewhat extreme and not suitable for non-tech-savvy users and those who don't want to deal with regular breakage.

Vanadium sadly lacks a proper content blocker integration.
