It had both! You could use either a link cable or a password to continue your game in the opposite title, and to bring over the rings you had from the original save. At the jeweler's shop, the red snake was for password transfers and the blue snake was for link cable transfers!

I used to play a lot of Apex before the Linux ban, and have since moved on to Overwatch 2 which works perfectly with proton.

My wife and most of my friends were super supportive and also dropped Apex when they blocked Linux, even though they all use windows. Playing with friends has made Overwatch far more fun than I remember from playing years ago!
