The FP “saga”

I was introduced to The FP back in 2011 thanks to a now defunct podcast. Having recently rewatched the film, and since the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th films are free in the U.S. on Tubi, I figured it was time to rewatch Beats of Rage and then finally check out the next 2 films. Still love The FP, still enjoy Beats Of Rage, and so far… Escape from Baku is… weird. LOL

John Carter (2012)

What does everyone think about this attempt at a new franchise from Disney? I remember seeing it in the theater and I really enjoyed it! I had hoped we would see more in the 'John Carter' universe, but that was not to be. Poor marketing is often blamed, as is critics suggesting it was "derivative".

Hello fellow podcasters and podcast listeners!

Just wanted to say 'hello' and mention that I am the host to two movie review shows. Orphaned Entertainment reviews and discusses films that are in the public domain. Early 20 century entertainment! It is fascinating see the groundwork of Hollywood being laid!

On the Time Shifters Podcast we review mainly sci-fi, horror movies. Big budget Hollywood to no budget independent films.

I'd love for you to give them a listen!

I'm looking forward to seeing what is shared here, and we are always looking for promo swaps so if you have one, let me know!

Algiers (1938)

One of my favorite public domain films! This is an incredible flick with some incredible stars, including the premier of Hedy Lamarr!

"Charles Boyer is Pepe, a jewel thief hiding out in Algiers' maze-like and mysterious Casbah. Pepe is a master criminal, but when he meets the beautiful Parisian Gaby (Hedy Lamarr in her Hollywood premier), he begins to question his shady existence."

Black Dragons (1942)

A cabal of American industrialists, all fifth-columnists intent on sabotaging the war effort, are methodically murdered by Monsieur Colomb. (Bela Lugosi) Detective Dick Martin (Clayton Moore) is assigned to uncover this his fiendish plot. (Clayton Moore is most famous for playing The Lone Ranger!)

This was rushed into production immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japanese sources, making it one of the first movies to respond to the attack and the United States new enemies.
