Wrong for bishops to get automatic House of Lords seat, says MP
Quite right. They should play by the rules and inherit their seats from their fathers or by bribery. Tradition is everything in the Lords.

Shit name
I have to agree. wefwef is original and easy to search for. Voyager is going to get lost in a sea of voyagers (pun intended). Matrix/Element had the same problem every time they changed names and chose generic words.
I'd have gone for Wiff Waff, the original name of Ping Pong:

Ford Fiesta: production ends of UK’s all-time bestselling car
I'm going to miss the good old days when Ford named their cars after jazz mags.
Fiesta trivia: I once worked at a place where my company car was a Cortina estate. It got replaced by a bright yellow Fiasco. I left.

Someone didn't think this through. Banning Master/slave oppresses the BDSM community. Well, it oppresses the Masters, at least. The slaves like a bit of oppression. It's their raison d'être.
Joking aside, language is what the speaker means and nothing else. You can say something to ten people and they'll all have their own interpretations. And they can all be wrong.
A classic a while back was some folk in Australia saying Captain Cook didn't discover Australia because indigenous people had been there for thousands of years. That isn't what discover means but it didn't stop many being offended.
I've discovered lots of things in my lifetime. It doesn't mean I was the first.

I noticed that there is a lot less hate against Indians on Lemmy
I'm sure I'll regret this but I'll make an attempt...
First of all you have to define "Indian". It's a big country with many religions, ethnicities, castes. etc. At best, it's a geographic term like saying someone is European.
I grew up next to a suburb with a large immigrant population. In those days we had Indians, Pakistanis (east and west) and West Indians (people of African descent from the Caribbean). I was lucky as I could learn about these different cultures at first hand. The Indians (mostly Hindus) and the Pakistanis (mostly Muslim) hated each other. The Indian Sikhs wisely kept their heads down and stayed out of it. The one thing that united them was their dislike for the Caribbean people. They all regarded them as their social inferiors.
Hate comes in many guises and from many places.
Now onto your main question. When you see anti-Indian hatred online is it directed at all Indians? I can see why some people take exception to Modi and his right-wing mobs killing Muslims and burning down mosques in the same way that lots of people condemn the Taliban for their treatment of decent, moderate people (especially women) in Afghanistan. Whenever religion is involved it always seems to multiply whatever fuckwittery an individual has. Add in some mob mentality and you have the recipe for bigotry and bodies. You have to ask yourself where the hatred is really aimed at. Is it hatred or well-deserved criticism from someone that isn't articulate enough to make themselves clear?
Anyway, this is much too big a subject for a simple online response and I couldn't possibly do it justice. If it's any consolation I read crap every day about my country and people for being imperialists and yet we've been colonised/settled/invaded more than most places. Facts have never stopped a bigot from having their say.
Take care, friend, and as we say in my mother country: don't let the bastards grind you down.

Truth.
In Australia it's ute (pickup) drivers. If it's a faded mustard colour it's an ancient farmer driving 30 km/h below the speed limit in a no-overtaking area. If it's bright red it's the farmer's grandchild driving at 30 km/h above the speed limit as he* overtakes you in a no-overtaking area.
*It's always a he.

No 10’s Ulez stance reverses ‘decades of clean air progress’, says Sadiq Khan
The problem with No. 10 is that there's no one in there old enough to remember walking to school through winter smog. Pollution kills and legislation saves lives: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_Air_Act_1956

Boris Johnson fails to hand over mobile with Covid WhatsApps before inquiry deadline
Didn't the Tories bring in some legislation that would enable the government to store all our private communications? I know this buffoon will argue that the law is only supposed to apply to the little people. It doesn't count for old Etonians.

All bigotry is based on stereotypes. If anyone thinks less of me because of where I was born then they're not the sort of person I should be wasting any time on.

Anyone using their retro machines to make music or for live use? I experimented with making live Acid music with a C64, using Mssiah, and a 303, etc. The timing of the 303 clone wanders sync too much
Does a PS2 count as retro?
