The shock to me is that Kamala Harris is in the poll at all. What rallies is she hosting? Is she even making any media appearances? I wouldn't be surprised though if the DNC pull out the super delegates to say AOC has lost day 1 if there is even going to be a 2028 election at all.

Its definitely on the pricey side of the cereal options. Its really extremely different than anything Kellogg's, Post or General Mills is making. High Protein, gluten free, no preservatives, these things unfortunately don't come cheap.

Priced at $8.87 at Walmart, its still more than twice the price per gram of the similar looking cereals but the price of Cinnamon Toast Crunch is totally irrelevant is you need to eat gluten free or want something healthy that still tastes like a sugar cereal.

I think Farm Girl and Truely are primarily meant as specialty diet cereals, the nutritional values are completely unlike the cereals they may look like.

We do have an extensive list of other made in Canada laundry options (though many of the Canadian companies have imported pods) at ShopCanadianStuff.ca I think all the others are based in Canada, but Costco has a very large distribution network and gets people's attention to look at other alternatives.

I did similar analysis of some of the grocery store house brands and how many items they are identifying online as prepared in Canada or made in Canada at ShopCanadianStuff.ca/blog Save on Foods (Western Family) and Sobeys/Safeway (Compliments) are definitely the best, drastically better than Loblaws' house brands PC and No Name.

I like this table, I think like this a lot too, but if you make that kind of analysis with anything at Costco you are always going to buy the thing at Costco, which is the fundamental trade off of Costco, giving up variety for good prices on large quantities.

If you compare it to something like Nesquik which Farm Girl has a healthy clone of, I think its a bit more fair: Nesquik has 340g, 1252 calories, 18g protein, and is sold for $6.49 at Safeway. Just looking at those numbers I can see that Farm Girl isn't really a low calorie cereal it is a high protein cereal. I'd be willing to pay the extra premium from Safeway prices to Farm Girl prices but I too would rather buy made in Canada Mini-Wheats at Costco prices.

I think a large majority of Canadians are of this view and are trying to buy things made in Canada. The minority advocating to boycott made in Canada products of American brands are usually outvoted on social media and I have yet to actually meet anyone in person who advocates for that strategy which leads me to believe at least some of the online commentators advocating for Canadian owned over Canadian workers are trolls or organized disinformation actors. I've setup ShopCanadianStuff.ca to help shoppers find things made in Canada and don't really provide much opportunity to talk about the ownership of brands because I think it is a distraction.
