This isn't my opinion, it is strictly Gul Dukat's, that Cardassian bastard!

I know that this is a lighthearted place, but why do you think so? E-Mail is one of the most democratic and equity promoting forms of communication there is through its decentralisation and open standardisation. It would be the very kind of thing the Federation would want to preserve or introduce itself.

I'm still disappointed that SNW Klingons sound like a boy band.
Well it definitely was hilarious but I would also have been open for some quality Klingon opera

Bajoran shitposters, your time is running out. But it's not too late. You can still post OC and save your lives.

I think it's far more plausible that Spock simply didn't scan for life signs, as his mission was to install the rockets and had nothing to do with rescuing any survivors in the first place, he stumbled upon Chapel by accident. It's also logical to assume that there would not be any other survivors left in the same space as Chapel as from Spock's perspective, she would have brought such along or at least have informed him of them. Therefore, we can conclude that there wasn't any misconduct from either of the two.

Though I must confess that I am skeptical about scenes like this. In my opinion, DS9 often comes dangerously close to glorifying terrorism, which might have had a more positive reputation in the U.S. in the light of the Soviet defeat in Afghanistan, however, little did they know that they themselves would become the occupiers from the perspective of many people, especially in the Arab world. I doubt that DS9 would have approached terrorism the way it did if it would have been made after 9/11.

If you could have either a holodeck or a replicator, which one would you pick?
100% replicator, no hesitation

M'Benga's Demotion is due to something on Gorn
What makes you think that M'Benga will be demoted? There wasn't anything hinted like that at all

I could give many labels to the Gorn arc but "uninteresting" is definitely not one of them!

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Lower Decks | 4x09 "The Inner Fight"
Really strong episode, although I am skeptical about the Locarno reveal, I could've imagined cooler things, but we'll see where they'll take it from here

So whats everyone watching on Thursdays now that SNW has wrapped up?
I am re-watching Picard and are near the end of season 2 now. I've found the show to be much better and indeed extremely enjoyable if one binges it. The one episode per week scheme at release when I first watched Picard was really detrimental to such a heavily serialised story, in my opinion. After Picard, I will be re-watching all three seasons of Lower Decks to prepare for the fourth in September.

Star Trek executive producer wants more Strange New Worlds episodes, and I’m nervous

Wow thanks, that really explains well why the modern shows respect (at least some of) "beta canon" more than what I would expect. A natural consequence when some of the authors sit in the writer's room :)

I think that you have got to learn and come to accept that people have different tastes. Stellaris certainly can be too difficult for some people, but that doesn't take away from its brilliance.

However, the message of Trek also is that not all change is good, already evident in the M5 episode of TOS. There's no shame in taking a step back if the prior state was superior, which some think it is (with regard to the 20 episode scheme)
