I really wish there was a good competitor to Discord. I have not found one that has the same screen sharing feature. Revolt (now Stoat) gets close but lacks the screen sharing - something me and my friends use a lot. They are adding this soon so hopefully it is good

Only concern I guess for me is I previously made the choice to join here because I really like the idea that the users of the instance are the main driving force in the direction and choices of the instance. I haven’t really had to run a VM for anything but I think Qemu is the main program used by most people for running VMs.
