Who needs a +6 Hourglass or some wand? I need 10 darts!

I thought I was imagining it, so I took a screenshot. Is this by design? They didn't always seem to be crooked.

Someone's about to get really hurt.

Just for fun, I tried dumping it on a charging Evil Eye. The stored damage had decayed to around 200, and it did 63 damage to the eye. Not bad, but not enough to kill it.

Killing a slug with the Runic Slash stored a lot of extra damage!

0-challenge. I played as a Freerunner, of course, since I was dumping into a thrown weapon.

I didn't use any upgrades until after I had the Troll made the knives +2. I got lucky and found a +2 Sword at one point, and +1 Scale Armor. Those helped a lot.

I used one upgrade as a Scroll of Enchantment and got Corrupting which was great. I was corrupting enemies left and right. I ended up having to craft like 6 Magical Infusions. That's a lot of energy, but I did have the Alchemist's Toolkit which gave some for free.

My trinket was a +3 13-Leaf Clover, which was both fun and maddening. Hitting for minimum damage (often zero early in the game) for 5 turns in a row will have you cursing RNGesus! It was kinda nice when I found an early Sickle. It was only +0, but it topped out at 20 damage. I abused sneak attacks to make sure I didn't miss, and it hit hard when the clover rolled right.

I burned through all 4 Ankhs. Mostly because I'm so stubborn about using health potions sometimes. Also because I was running around with +0 leather armor. I forgot to save my cloth armor and sold it. I was momentarily tempted to take the cloth armor out of the new vault quest, but a +3 Crossbow was a much better choice.

I got all 10 tokens then tapped on the door to walk to it, and I got the error. If you walk a step away and do it again, it'll happen again. Seems to me like this shouldn't happen. It should either open the interface for the "Strange Door" or not do anything at all.

I really like it. I like the stealth mechanic, and the Shahrazad style game within a game. It's fun to be scrounging around, finding a +3 weapon, and feeling like you're suddenly doing ok. Much like the main game, except it's a little bite-sized game.

Perhaps in the future, consider making it a mini game you can start from the title screen! I'm imagining players could pick their level (maybe up to some reasonable maximum appropriate for the quest), then try to beat the vault, choosing their talents when they enter. It could be a fun challenge to see how low of a level you can start at and still win. It would be extra hard, though, because no items would be ID'ed yet. I'm curious what others think of the idea.

The patch notes say this was added on purpose, but then say it was removed as a bug in beta-2. Did you forget you added it on purpose, or am I missing something? Is there a differnce between "from" and "in" the fog of war?

I tried to imbue it with a Wand of Disintegration and the game immediately crashed. I was still in the mirror room at the time.

I'm playing Battlemage, and have the talent that returns the previous staff wand once per player level, not that the staff currently appeared to have an imbued wand, not even Magic Missile.

Update:

This time I quit my game before trying again so it would save. The crash happened again, so it's repeatable. I was not in the mirror room this time, and trying to imbue other wands crashes, too.

I definitely have it saved. See screenshot. But it never auto-fills. What's the deal?

Update: Turns out this is caused by viewing a large image and then zooming in. At a certain zoom level the app goes into fullscreen, hiding the navigation buttons and top bar. It then never exits this mode until you quit the app.

Like, I don't want to hear about the Steam Machine's price, registration date, or launch date 8 hours after the news comes out. I want to hear about it instantly! I want to be woken up. I want an Android App that subscribes to a webhook, runs in the background, and sounds an alarm when there's news. You know, like an Amber Alert but for Steam hardware.

Any of you nerds want to help design this?

I'm imagining not just the API, but also a front-end website where trusted users (admins and volunteers) can ring the bell when real news comes out by posting a link. Whether it's an announcement about the price, or even an announcement that that announcement will be soon. Any real news from Valve.

Yes, I'm stoned, but my idea is brilliant nonetheless! This is totally worth the effort. If no one wants to help, maybe I'll vibe code it. I know Lemmy loves that!

For real, though, are there any existing services I could use besides opening Lemmy every hour?

Update: It's caused by the "Show Text Post Indicator" setting being on in Compact mode.

I forgot I installed Thunder via Obtanium, so I get very quick updates. I guess I shouldn't be surprised no one else has seen it. It also turns out it's caused by a non-default setting.

Is this happening to anyone else? It started after an update.

UPDATE

It turns out I didn't lose all logins in Firefox, just a couple of major ones. It was very surprising. And this was after losing all in LibreWolf, so I thought it was all in Firefox, too. My bad.

As pointed out in the comments, LibreWolf is basically "Private Browsing Mode" by default. I did not know that. I turned that off, re-copied my profile, and I'm good to go.

I just installed Librewolf (Flatpak) the other day, here's the sequence of events:

1. Install Librewolf
2. Run it once and close it.
3. Copy the contents of my profile folder from Firefox to my new profile folder in Librewolf after deleting its default contents.
4. Run Liberwolf and see that everything is good: bookmarks, logins, extensions, etc.

The next day I run Liberwolf and notice I'm logged out of every website that I normally keep logged in. I figured I probably failed to change some default privacy setting in the new browser and it wiped my logins.

So I open Firefox and I'm logged out of every website there, too! I still have all my bookmarks and such, so I know I didnt move my profile contents by accident.

What in the world happened? Why did I suddenly get logged out of everything in both browsers?

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed with btrfs.

Version v0.8.1. Android 16. Pixel 7 Pro.

After scrolling a couple pages (endless scrolling is on) I start seeing "Instance of 'LemmyApiException'". Once it starts, the tiniest amount of scrolling—even upwards—causes the error. I can make a bunch of rapid, itty bitty scrolls, and each one will hide and reshow the error.

What is Thunder doing with the API on every single scroll? Even up? Makes no sense.

I don't have "mark read on scroll" enabled, or anything odd. I haven't changed any settings in weeks, and this started happening just a few days ago. It might only be happening on my home instance. I could test with an alt.

Update: I can't reproduce this using a lemmy.world account

Update: It's worse than I thought. It's crashing my VPN! I use the Mullvad VPN app. After that crashes, Thunder crashes. This happens every time.

First, it slows way down and stutters a bit, then turns all black and crashes to my home screen.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Android 16. Pixel 7 Pro.

If not, can you please add a setting to disable it? It's just not for me. At best it's a distraction while I wait for the image to load. At worst, it blocks part of the image.
