I'm really hoping for Infinity for Lemmy... My first experience with reddit was from Infinity. That app is great.

Is it a good thing if there are identical communities on different instances?
I don't think so. I mean, even if an instance with an important community has a problem (e.g. goes offline) we can simply create that community on another instance, but as long as there are no problems I think it's better to have just one community.

Why doesn't DuckDuckGo return any results for "PeerTube"?
Reply in thread
I just tried it with a VPN and it worked. Turning it off and refreshing the resulted in no results again.
But I can open https://joinpeertube.org/ without a VPN. This confuses me.

Aegis is great! I really don't know why people use Google Authenticator when much better alternatives exist.

I wrote my own streaming app for Android TV. Do you want me to open source it?

Hello;
I tried to explain why open-sourcing a program is a good idea. I hope my explanation helps you.
Anyone who can will be able to read the code (and that means if someone tries to add malicious code people would notice), and it also makes it easier to contribute to the program, programmer or not. Programmers can fix the program on their own and then ask for their fix to be added. Or, if they don't know why something isn't working (or don't have time, or aren't programmers at all), they can create an issue: it's like a post, and anyone can comment on it. If the main programmer/s didn't find out what was wrong someone else might.

What open source keyboard alternative you suggest instead of gBoard on Android?
Reply in thread
Definitely FlorisBoard. I've also tried AnySoftKeyboard and some others in the past, and I think FlorisBoard is the best.

I think I saw this around four years ago for the first time... someone sent it to me on telegram, but in another language.

what are some good communities NOT on beehaw.org or lemmy.ml?
It's a small community but I like ![email protected] (I really think we need a better way to link communities.)

Can confirm this. I tried with bing. Same result. That was why it wasn't working, because of bing. Thanks! I'll probably to switch to something else now.

Best file menager on android?
The Material Files repo shows the last update was three weeks ago, but the latest version on the releases page and f-droid are from 2022. This is confusing...

What made you pick the Lemmy server you are on?
Reply in thread
I chose vlemmy.net for the exact same reason, too. Also it was the top instance on https://join-lemmy.org/instances the day I wanted to join another instance (I was on lemmy.ml then).

Searching "PeerTube" doesn't return any results. peertube (all lower case) doesn't return anything either. What's funny is that "pertube" returns the correct results for "PeerTube". It seems like it works like this: If the IP requesting the search is from my country and it's searching PeerTube or peertube it's going to block the search. But why should it?! PeerTube isn't blocked here. YouTube is though.

You would probably get used to FlorisBoard after a bit of time if you try it. I was used to SwiftKey but I didn't like it because it doesn't have a good history, like suggesting private email addresses to other users, and it's for Microsoft. But now I'm typing this using FlorisBoard.

Your lips don't touch when you say the word touch, but do touch when you say separate
Not like this in Persian! Seperate is jodaa in Persian (جدا), and touch can be translated to tamaas (تماس).

It does! So it's probably because DDG uses bing.
