I ain't got nothin better to do so might as well run a server forever

nopeee

It's all about those fucking advertisements the official app is plagued with.

Gotta get that $$$$$

*and why links REALLY can't be posted to vendors by users or posts w/individual to individual trades on Reddit. They want to charge for that stuff eventually I'm sure.

ya know, it's not hard to setup a totally independent instance on the same hypervisor as another.

I have servers, you have people, we could make independent lemmy instances on my two Dell R720xd and one Dell R730xd servers. They're not overloaded with people like lemmy.world yet, that would put way way more stress on that server.

That's what this Dell PowerEdge I'm posting on is for

Might even be in a silent server specs race with @[email protected].

TheDude just doesn't know it yet, and neither does my checking account.

Here's the link for those curious, since we don't have the same shitty rules as reddit

Hellll yeah!!

I don't want to be the only one out here churning through ActivityPub data for all those $5 VPS Lemmy servers ;-)

it's been off for about a week

Agree 100%, !@[email protected] is pretty bad ass for finding/posting all these awesome memes.

Sorry to hear about the CHS :(

Totally cool w/selling the zion gear here and glass as long as it's clean and do one of those username/date pics w/it like EntExchange and stuff do. Always suggest using PayPal Goods and Services for buyer protection, can't mention what it is tho cause things are grey w/that.... TL;DR everything is risky, it's something we accept after doing as much due diligence as possible. So, just be aware/careful/keep exceptions aligned with the above and you might get scammed like any other place items are sold/traded secondhand.

For the giving away consumables in a legal way... I'd want to stay on the side of caution and say no because Ohio sucks and I'm not confident w/my potential personal liability for that taking place in a sanctioned/open way on communities my hardware hosts. If someone came at the site for selling a used mighty or RBT zion that was clean/above board/etc... I'd be willing to try to fight the state on that one (would prob get expensive and I'd do my best, would end w/a gofund me and a fight at least lmao). I registered an LCC in Ohio to deal with the banking/taxes/not in my bank account related to hosting the server (plus other things), and most importantly keep shit away from my Ex wife..... Don't want that getting swooped up in a DEA raid over an 8th of shrooms or herb ;-)

With even giving away consumables "legally", like a Washington DC resident posting something along those lines on this hardware.... Personally I'd LOVE to, but unfortunately I'm not lookin to be low-key Heisenberg at this stage of my life & It would complicate other things in my life quite a bit IF there was an issue in the substance space.

currently, I selfhost https://beyondcombustion.net and now https://lemmy.beyondcombustion.net for /r/vaporents and hopefully others. There's other stuff I self host too, this is the fun new stuff though.

I have the shuruggie tattooed on my right wrist. Shruggie is a state of mind.

100% agree, which is why:

The post you commented on and linked to is in 9 days old

That bot has been off for at least 4-5 days now.

If you don't want to talk to bots, make NEW posts :-)

It was to get something in here, exactly as you said. But that time passed.

We'll still be bringing the old-as-hell stuff onto this server somewhere, but it won't be continual bot reposts like that

Yeah, for the majority of the session.

The Angus seems to crank out vapor foreeeever from some bud over multiple oven cycles. But I’ll deal with that tasting a little done after I’ve gotten three heat cycles on a single bowl lol. (ymmv)

lmaoooo this is like some benny hill shit rn.

Cracking tf up

I'm packing for a work trip and doing about a million other things.

What ya'll vapin with today?

I'm still using this USB-C Mighty w/a busted port.

I have ~100 vapes, and I keep using the broken one (instead of getting it fixed or using another device)......

Yeah, i think those ads are stupid because they're annoying/easily skipped.

I could see a model like this coming to the US eventually. The videos themselves are the ads https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/brands-focus-stories-refining-china-livestreaming-boost-profits-2023-06-28/

This server is going to have a PeerTube instance in the coming weeks, because youtube likes to nuke cannabis videos anyways lol.

omg holy shit lmaoo

Also, thank you for taking the time to ask for clarification on those two things btw.

It's appreciated :-)
