Looking to switch back to a dumbphone, need advice

Hey there! I plan on switching back to a dumbphone once my current phone bites the dust, which will be sooner rather than later. I am on Xfinity for bundling purposes, and I definitely want a full qwerty keyboard, preferably slide. What are my options right now, that would be under the 500 dollar range? I'm totally open to blackberrys, too!

All I will be wanting it for is text and calling, but having navigation is nice, too.

Adjusting compass for declination, and usage

Hello :)

I have a Suunto MC 2G compass, and I am learning about magnetic declination. First, the area I live in has a -8° declination. So, if I set my adjustment to reflect that, then orient my map in the traditional way, everything on my map should reflect exactly what I see in real life, correct? This appears to be true for me, but it is hard to tell given such a small declination.

Second, with my adjusted compass, do I take and measure bearings in the traditional way? If I take a bearing on an object that reads 340 at the index line, then I don't have to worry about accounting for that -8, because I have already set it, correct? I suppose what I am asking is that, once my declination is set, I can just continue using my compass in all the ways I have before, and not worry about declination anymore.

Question regarding meridian lines, and magnetic north

Hello!

I am learning how to use a map and compass for navigation, and I have been using Be Expert with Map and Compass. So far everything is straight forward and makes sense in theory and in practice, but then I hit a wall on page 126, second and third paragraph. It is about drawing in magnetic north lines on a map using declination. I'm going to take a picture of the page because it is too much to type on my phone :)

I can't highlight or underline anything because it is a library book. Can someone explain this section to me if the map I am using has a longitude line of 44°52.5 N' in the upper margin, and 44°45' N in the lower margin?

Edit: I think I realized my mistake here. Those lines I mentioned would be my latitude lines, not longitude. My longitude lines read identical at the top and bottom of 86° 0' W

But even so, if the longitude lines at the top and bottom didn't line up, say 86° 0' W and 86° 9' W, how do I add magnetic north lines using a meridian, and which longitudinal lines are considered meridians?

Rod suggestion for backpacking/hiking?

Hey there! I'm looking for a compact and lightweight rod to take with me while hiking and backpacking. It will be used almost certainly only for panfish, most likely catch and release. This is something that will probably be used only a dozen times a year, so I'd prefer to spend less that 50 dollars. I'd also like it to fit either inside a backpack, or comfortably attach to it.

Thanks!

From SLR to DSLR. Advice?

Hello! I recently got into photography, and purchased a Minolta x700, with several MD lenses. I'm very happy with it, but I didn't realize how expensive film photography can be. I am considering to switching to DSLR once I develop my skills, and I was wondering what some good options are for entry level DSLR cameras would be.

Ideally the DSLR should or can accept my current Minolta MD lenses.

Thanks!

Edit: I'm not even sure that DSLR photography will be more cost effective, so if I'm wrong, please fill me in! I paid 24 dollars for a 3 pack of Fujifilm 200, and it is 17 dollars to develop a single roll at CVS (there are no other photo labs in the area, and they send it away, anyway).

Help with women's clothes!

Hello :)

I just started shopping for women's clothing, mostly pants. I am AMAB, but I'm on the smaller side. I'm 5'7, 135lbs with a 28in waist. I like my clothing I be pretty tight and form fitting, but I'm not sure which department to go shopping in. I started in the Women's department, but wasn't really impressed. Would the petite or misses section serve me better fitting clothing? I was hoping to find some skinny or slim fit pants that are shorter inseam, like capris, or a little shorter :)

Any advice?

Thanks 👍

Gender neutral and feminine leaning clothing

I want to start wearing clothes that are more feminine-leaning in terms of style, patterns and colors, but I don't want to necessarily wear clothing that is designed for women. I need some help with this because this is entirely new territory for me, and I don't have any kind of support group around me that can help me with this. Are there certain stores that are better to shop at that will help me with this? Online or brick and mortar are fine. If it helps to narrow things down, I'm 37, 5'7", 135lbs with a 28 inch waist. I always wear slim fit, small clothing. I prefer not to spend a lot of money, also :)

Everything I currently wear is masculine-leaning, but I want to find clothes that'll fit my gender fluidity better and make me feel more comfortable. I typically wear casual clothes, but I do get dressed up a couple times a year, too.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Edit: if my location helps, I live in the Metro Detroit area

Question regarding my status in the queer community

Okay, I was assigned male at birth, but I have questions:

  1. I mostly identified as non-binary/agender, but is it possible for me to also be genderfluid in that capacity? I have felt more fluid recently, but is that generally accepted?

  2. Regardless of fluidity, do I fall into the LGBTQ+ community because of my identification, or am I excluded from it?

  3. Is queer a socially acceptable term to use for those in the community, or does it carry the same weight it did when I was a kid in the late 90s?

I don't have anybody in my community I can discuss this with, which is why I came here. Hopefully you all can help give me a little guidance ✌️
