Do you pee in the shower?

Reply in thread

Strange story for you.. I had very bad athletes foot for many years. All the off the shelf powders and creams didn't help at all. Someone told me to pee on my feet to cure it, I didnt believe them but tried it anyways. Worked amazingly quickly. Occasionally I do it still but not all the time. Haven't had athletes foot in over 25 years... I'm so sorry for the story. 😂

Tough Duck is your Canadian alternative for Carhartts

Tough duck is canadian but I will not buy from them again. They were union made clothes made in canada. But that has changed. No more union anymore that I can tell. And all clothes seem to be made in other countries now. I bought the same jacket that used to be made in canada, it is now made in another country and the fit is all wrong. Quite disappointed with the turn of quality and the companies change of altitude towards union canada made clothing. I was happy to be paying more for canadian made clothing, to bad. 🙁

To those who use IPTV services, why?

Hard to explain. I use iptv because I miss having something on that is:

  • something I might have not see before, channel flip and find something new.
  • something I don't really care about and can be turned off at moments notice.
  • something just for background noise.
  • I sometimes dont want to think and pick a show.
  • Other??

Some of those overlap a little.

How well can EVs handle the heat — and the cold? AAA put them to the test

But tucked away inside this building is a room that's heavily insulated and packed with powerful heaters and coolers. It can be cranked down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, or up to 95.

20F is -6.67C, That is not very cold.. We can get months of anywhere between -25C to -40C without the wind chill here. I would be interested in more tests at cold tempatures. Last we need is people expecting more than they are going to get. I would just expect range to be cut in half but either way I would much rather have an electric car.

Ontario’s information watchdog is considering ‘potential next steps’ on alleged deleted Greenbelt emails

There are no penalties for violating Ontario’s Archives and Recordkeeping Act, which bars government staffers from deleting emails, and the maximum fine for violating Ontario’s freedom of information law is $5,000.

So other than a fine that that is basically nothing, there is nothing that can happen?! How can there not be "something" to deter people from deleting what ever they want? I don't know much about the laws involved in this but hope something will come of this.

best foss cad software?

Depends on what your using it for? For 3d printers I like FreeCAD. Though it has a bit of an initial learning curve. It has a lot of functionally. SolveSpace was pretty good but I had some trouble with fillets and things. Might have been user errors... I havent used blender much but heard its good for more artistic modeling for games and videos. Not sure if it would work good for 3d parts? Anyone use it for that?

Plummeting battery prices in China may normalise EVs globally - electrive.com

The cells can be bought by anyone but that number doesn't take shipping into account. Alibaba or www.gobelpower.com I have bought 16 cells and getting ready to buy 32 more. Its more that other car manufactures are not using them in there vehicles and they are making luxury vehicals instead what people really need. I really wish other country's had production of cells for sale. I can't find a single one thats not China produced that will sell to the public.

Why dl restaurants not offer metal straws the same way they offer metal forks, knives and spoons.

I think straws are harder to clean properly. All other utensils are outside surfaces only. If some one has food stuck inside one the restaurant is probably not going to want to manually put a cleaner inside every one to be sure. A small chance some customer is going to get one with food still in it... I don't mind the paper ones that don't go soggy right away. At home I use metal or silicone ones. Like the silicone ones!

When will the floss stop hurting

Not a dentist. Should probably see one. Mine were in really bad shape. I didn't take care of them for a long time. I'm trying now. At first all the gums would bleed and hurt. A month later still bad. I ended up giving the gums a couple days to heal every once and a while then back to once a day. Two years later still two spots that hurt a little and bleed some times. It can take time, dont get discouraged. I think its something that if you don't do, its hard to get back to healthy. Keep in there, don't give up. My teeth are a million times better than they were.

expansion foam pistols vs straws

Reply in thread

Good points. I just wanted to add to make sure you turn the flow control knob tightly off every time you are done with it. And never leave an empty can on it, change it quickly. I leave a can on mine permanently so its always ready to go. Can use a tiny amount then then close the flow control knob off. I have let mine sit for over 6 months with no issues. I only clean it rarely when I don't have a fresh can to put on. I have only gone though two foam pistols/guns in 15 years. I would never use the normal cans again. Way to much waste.

*Permanently Deleted*

Two issues I have with them.

First the size. Being on a poor internet connection makes downloading them painful. Some apps are 200MB for the apt or a flatpak install 1.5GB! Also doesn't help with disk space.

Second I often have issues saving files. Some apps use non standard folder location and some still save them to the non standard location even when you select one of you own. Block bench was bad. I'm not sure what causes this, if it wasn't for the size I would probably spend more time looking for a fix.
