I think it's worth pointing out that legality depends on jurisdiction and while it's obviously a requirement to obey the your (and other admins') local laws, it's not quite so clear-cut when it comes to other countries.

Eg. It's illegal to criticize Hong Kong's government under their National Security Law. But I think we'd (the community here, not just you and me) agree that lemmy.world has absolutely no obligation to follow that law.

I think they were hoping to lean into the uncanny valley of AI art to cause a sense of imbalance/discomfort to fit the whole secret invasion theme. And of course save a boatload of money along the way.

I'm not necessarily against it as a concept 'cause I think art will survive AI as it survived digital painting, photography, and loads of other revolutions before. But it really is kind of a slap in the face to the artists that got Marvel where it is today.

I think it'd be good to put a few guidelines in place to shape the discussion away from the lowest common denominator. Even the very basics of asking posters to describe why they liked the photograph enough to post it is a nice, gentle nudge in the direction you're describing.

I actually wish there was less going on around the taxi - a lot of the texture and busy-ness comes from the buildings and trees above ground-level in the scene and I think it would be more effective at communicating the calmness you want from the shot.

Other than that, I think the taxi's unfortunately too bright. I'd try bringing down the luminance of yellows in post, increasing saturation, and shifting ever so slightly toward orange to see if it'll jump out more. As-is right now the blue truck behind it is more eye-catching to me because it's a nice midtone in a sea of near-blown-out highlights on the buildings and near-black leaves on the trees.

Weirdly I think Apple is in a position where they don't need a wide install base to drum up developer interest. Everyone knows it's a land grab and first movers' advantage is huge in a new ecosystem and I think we all know that a lower price Apple headset would sell like hotcakes. So devs can (and likely are) invest early as if the install base already exists.

1. I have a DSi and a 3ds. I'm dating myself but I bought the 3ds with my internship money and later got a new 3ds with money from my first full-time job.
2. I don't know if it's my favourite but Pokemon X certainly has the most hours sunk into hatching eggs and chasing shinies
3. There were a variety of eshop games that really utilized the 3d effect well. Pushmo comes to mind but I'm sure there are others.
4. Nothing besides being generally baffled at why the power of 3d in the palm of your hand was being ridiculed by the gaming community. I now know it's probably 3d fatigue from all the 3d movies/TVs/etc around that time.
5. I dug my 3ds back out with the eshop shutdown and have been playing FFTA2 lately.

I'm playing Pistol Whip - I've been looking forward to VR forever and was on the fence hoping to wait for more games to get released on VR2 before buying in but quite frankly I was tired of waiting and pulled the trigger. It's been a good experience so far.

I'm looking forward to more games, of course.

It's reasonable to suspect that something like this might be important and denying him the truth is denying him agency to choose.
