Keturah - Who Are We Tonight? [Synth Pop Type Thing?]

I did like the rest of it. It was mostly quite mellow.
Definitely feel the 'driving down a quiet road' vibes like you mentioned.

Let's stop playing around and talk about ditching something big: Visa and Mastercard
When I was paying at a local shop recently, I mentioned to the owner I'm trying to pay cash now rather than card because Visa is a US company and he he thanked me, since using a credit card costs them money.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes - Buy Canadian
Am I the only one who was surprised to realize This Hour has 22 Minutes still exists?

That sounds intensely therapeutic.

I didn't want to create something redundant if it did exist, but I don't see anything. I'll put some thought into what form it could take and what sorts of things would be reasonable to include.

What's your favorite fork / spoon?
For years I had one fork leftover from when I first moved out on my own. Every single time I got that fork, I was disappointed because it was so light and flimsy compared to all the other forks.
Then one day I realized.... I could just throw out the fork. The fork was adding no value to my life. I had other forks. So I threw it out and then felt vaguely sad for some reason I could not identify.
So I guess that was my favourite fork.

Good suggestion. I'll check that one next time I'm in there. I didn't see anything Canadian-made at London Drugs, though.

Weekly Recommendations Thread: What Canadian products do you recommend?
I've been enjoying these pretzels. They're kinda expensive but I can get them at a local shop so I usually try to grab a different flavour every week when I walk by there. (So far the dill pickle is my favourite by far.)

I was looking for a new dog food brand recently because my dog's kibble was American. I tried the 'Inukshuk' one I saw recommended on here in a different thread. The ingredients seem good and I liked that I could order a sample bag for $5 rather than committing to an entire bag without knowing if my dog would like it because she's extremely picky. Took about two weeks to arrive in interior BC from when I ordered it.
(My dog does like it, but that's a pretty subjective criteria. Some dogs are pickier than others.)

People are literally giving up staples like broccoli to avoid American products
For food, buying locally often means buying with the seasons, which isn't a bad thing either. I've started trying to do this more and enjoy how much more flavour there is in the produce I buy. I have been used to always being able to buy anything I want in any season, but adapting to what is available is kinda fun.

Suggestion: A weekly challenge thread for people to try at least one new Canadian product and post about it.
I've been doing this in my personal life. I find it shifts my thinking away from 'ugh, I can't find X' and more towards 'Hey, what options are there that I have never considered because I've been sleepwalking through shopping and buying brands I recognize?"

Dishwasher detergent in powder in Quebec?
I haaate how many brands have switched to those stupid little detergent pods. My local grocery store only has like one brand that still has powder and it's American.
Will definitely take a look into the 'Unscented Company.' Edit: Ah, looks like they only have those 'tabs.' I like the power because you can measure it out.

Hey, thanks for this recommendation. Looks like I can buy those at both of the garden shops I go to, so I'll keep an eye out next time I go. (Going to need to be checking labels for plant pots, though, I think.)

I do a personal challenge to try a new Canadian thing every week.
I enjoyed these fancy sodas I tried this time. They're flavoured with actual fruit and herbs and taste super refreshing. (I also just generally really prefer cane sugar sweetened soda over corn syrup.) I really like the grape and ginger flavour, in particular. It's not too sweet and tastes a bit like gingerale.

Tried the Farm Girl cereal that was mentioned in a post recently. Some thoughts.
Definitely would recommend if you have dietary restrictions that would make it a good fit for you. (I do, which is why it's worth the price for me.)

I've been looking for Canadian-made popcorn seasoning and found this one for sale locally:

I tried the ketchup flavoured one, but they have a lot of kinds.

I thought about posting on BuyCanadian but I was worried they would find it off-topic as that place is more focused on products. (e.g. Not so a place for talking about a Canadian book you read recently.)
That's a good point about splitting it up between the different locations. EhVideos seems like it has the shows/movies/old commercials covered. MapleMusic would work if I wanted to talk about Unleash the Archers or something like that.
I'm not necessarily opposed to creating one, though.

Absolute Losers - Sky So Violent [Indie Rock]
Oh, I liked this. Something about it reminds me of Ocarina of Time. Also has the kind of soothing/repetitive feel that I like in a stim song.
Edit: Listened to the rest of the album. Kinda reminds me of when I was a teen living in a small town just kinda wandering around bored with my friends looking for something to do.

I was able to find this one locally, thanks! Though I was hoping to find a roll of floss since those pre-strung ones are kinda wasteful.
